So I have been making airplanes here for about a year now. But I don't know what the sub assemblies are used for. What are the sub assemblies used for?

Yes I do. So I can make a cargo airplane and a car? And put the car as a sub assembly.

NOT ONLY THAT. lets say you made a drone. but you also made a carrier. now youre not gonna remake that drone and attach to the carrier (obviously) so what you do is save that drone as a Sub-Assemblie and then take it out and attach it to your carrier. and voila! you just saved 150 parts of work! :D Get it now> @Searay

They are used to make big pieces, such as a turret, and then you can add that whole assembly to the plane.
