So, I use a windows 11 Acer laptop with AMD stuff. It was 117 gb of storage, BUT, I have 113 gbs taken up? I did the math and in total only 80.26 gbs are taken up. Can someone help me out?
proof btw
cant see it that well but it says 63.7 gb for apps, 9.05 for other files, and 7.97 for temporary
the fact you're using windows 11 should really explain it all
.
mine also just randomly tries downloading 18gb updates and only then realises it's not allowed to install them without my permission
...and then it does it anyways and ensloppifies my laptop even more
@HuskyDynamics01 tysm. I can update my drives now, I got rid of 10+ gb
Not that good with computers, but I recommend asking @Joelcommanderofthearmoes
I know him IRL and is really good with computers
There’s probably a similar thing on windows if I had to guess, but I wouldn't know.
I had a similar problem on my MacBook (it did, however, calculate the correct amount of storage taken up so I could see what was taking up a ton of space) and I found that the "System Data" was taking up ~120Gb but I couldn't access the System Data files to delete stuff that was unnecessary (because, supposedly, everything within the System Data category is necessary for the system to run) so I watched a YouTube video on how to clear unnecessary stuff and, after some fiddling and unhiding secret documents, I found that 90 GIGABYTES WERE TAKEN UP BY GIFS FROM A GROUP CHAT BEING CACHED AND HIDDEN WITHIN MY LAPTOP so I deleted all of them and got my precious gigabytes back. I don’t know if this helps but that’s what I did.
