I Don't Think I'll Be Able To Become Good At Funky Tree Coding

23.0k KatBapa20  15 hours ago

Hello guys, it's kat's here writing about expressing my recent feelings about the cause of not being able to learn funky tree deeply, like i know it may look silly to say but, really.. i really can't keep learning funky tree into something more complicated like building a walker which actually walks like a real walker would behave and other stuff requiring a lot of math, that i don't often enjoy at doing so.

Welp, sorry if it sounds a lot harsh but, i'm not helping anyone here who wanna help me, especially when it comes to funky tree coding requiring more math than necessary. Also, maybe i should stop building walkers for now. :<

@LunarEclipseSP i would want to apologize for my kinda mean replies towards you, that wasn't my intention to hurt someone like you, i just wanted to express my feelings about funky tree coding, specifically when it comes to walkers behaving like actual walkers instead of faking it to look like they're walking.
    .
Also, i guess it's unfair for me that almost everyone else here is so great at math when talking about funky tree, making people with their disabilities like me feel more distant from them. Sad i know but..
    .
I don't wanna help anyone here..

@KatBapa20 I get what youre saying, and having unusual walks does complicate things, but honestly? there are 100% ways to do that that arent too crazy, if you ever need a hand with maths im half decent, not crazy or anything. Also there are ways to cheat with walkers, I tried finding a link to the one im referencing but its crazy old and I cant find it, its like a skeleton raptor that uses wheels and jet engines to move the legs moving affect nothing.
    .
Maths isnt easy I completely get it, but its one of those things you practice and im sure you'll get a hang of it

@Axartar Woooah, what a wall of text!(although i gotta admit, i write like this sometimes lol)
    .
I'm sorry but to be more clear, i don't mean like building giant walkers to walk, i meant that "walkers" in question are basically the one of those small walkers with its person or small object's size, for example Lagila, whose she walks quite awkward and perhaps even false, because i used a throttle engine as she refused to actually walk and she sometimes doesn't always walk straight, where she sometimes unintentionally turns around so many times she shouldn't (which i couldn't find the solution for this).
    .
I don't know if i'll be able to keep going due to my own limitations.
In other words as you can see, this is how i build (fake) walkers.

Hey brother; im not an expert on walkers, but i have made a few and i like to think the last one walks half decent so let me give you some help documents I made.
    .
the old but simple one. which while it sorta works it produces less good mechs. in my opinion how well mechs walk is proportional to the complexity. But many mechs use similar simple methods better than I ever could.
    .
my mahoraga walker documentation this documents a lot but if you scroll down I outline a pretty half decent method on getting a walker to walk. Its a bit more mathsy but doesnt require it. It has a glossary of bits you might need here and there too..
    .
The best way without doubt is taking a fourier transform of the extension(degrees) against time graph. but that isnt easy. so instead just borrow the code from a working walker obviously remember to credit the user but if you want to build something and you can model a perfect shell, why not get a little help with the last bit.
    .
I love walkers but i agree theyre stupid difficult to get into so I cant blame you at all for wanting to quit. That said theyre hella rewarding when they work so I do recommend trying anyways :)

    Math this, math that, whatever!
What do you guys expect me to be, being a super smart person who should know all about funky tree, huh?
    .
    I- i.. don't know what i can do with you guys, I can't.

@SuperSuperTheSylph You don't know how to use FT too? welp guess we're not alone anymore!
    .
But still, i still wanna stop building (fake) walkers..

@LunarEclipseSP No it's fine but, it feels unfair when someone else did a better job than me, which it makes me wanting to stop building (fake) walkers, not anymore.

    @KatBapa20 that's okay, mate. I don't really mind that.

I know how it feels mate. Until today I just never managed to make a walker purely by myself without asking for help or contribution from someone else.

    I don’t think anyone is.
I consider myself somewhat good at it.

I understand you. It's very complicated and hard.
