By realistic BVR Missiles I mean the ones that don't break lock, doesn't just have thrust all the way that it just slams into the target at Mach 5 or something, doesn't become useless when it runs out of fuel, and has drag and loses energy when maneuvering to its target and that makes BVR defending maneuvers possible?
Came across this post a few days ago: https://www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/1535927/AI-and-Countermeasure-is-some-bs and also this: https://www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/1979823/IRCCM-missiles-a-rant
And I thought: BVR will be real and fun? Lessgo!!!!! But I don't see anyone make a realistic BVR missile in SP yet.
Tried my hand on it earlier, but I'm curious to know: Did anyone else tried to do it? And how did it go?
Ku already did some missiles with almost realistic performance since they're ran by FT. But majority of their missiles are short range "IR-guided" ones.
.
I don't think they have BVR missiles yet in the works, but if you know your way around complicated FunkyTrees, you can start off with using their existing works as the foundation.
The only thing you can achieve the realistic bvr in sp, is range. Everything else is goofy. I just hope SP2 has reworked combat physics
Ku has some good missiles
me nd catbaron made a very jank aim54 quite a few years back that needed you to fire two missiles for it to work..... it was interesting and i even made it loft though it would almost always turn away at the very last second
