After hours of attempting to extract any intact data captured by onboard security cameras to no avail, it seemed as though nothing salvageable was left behind in the sad wreckage of our surveillance drone.
Miraculously however, after reloading the data what felt like dozens of times, it synced for a brief moment with my computer, this connection lasted maybe only half a second, but that's all the time my computer needed to extract the data and search through the image files.
During the drone's flight, the motion sensitive onboard cameras took 317 images in total. Of these 317 images, almost all of them were corrupted beyond recognition. However, two files remained somewhat intact.
After downloading and preserving these two images, I saved them to an external hard drive, ensuring their preservation.
Going into this, I had a feeling that whatever is out there wasn't like anything we'd ever seen before. And yet, I still wasn't prepared for what I saw on those two intact photos.
