An American passenger plane made an emergency landing in Iran on Sunday due to technical problems. Since the United States has viewed the country as an enemy since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the incident was politically sensitive. In addition, the US is constantly pressuring Iran to abandon its nuclear program.

The spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran reported that the Northwest Airlines plane landed in Tehran at 1:30 am CEST en route from Bombay (Bombay) in India to Amsterdam. About seven hours later, the American jet was able to continue its flight to the Netherlands. He added: The technical defect of the cargo compartment of the plane has been fixed. It is said that 255 passengers and crew were in a good mood and were waiting in the transit hall of Mehrabad airport.

America called the International Atomic Energy Agency's report on Iran "very worrying".
Washington's "policy change" is just a tactical move
There is no air service between the United States and Iran. However, after a severe earthquake in southern Iran in 2003, American military aircraft also sent relief supplies to the disaster area.

@HuskyDynamics01 Yes, I think it was the first and last time that a Dc-10 entered the Iranian airport.

@Decembermin No, the date on the revolution was right (I think). The emergency landing was in 2005.
