I need to change the tanker plane to a different one to use my refueling boom system. can anyone help with this?

The game resets the AI aircraft XML on startup, which will undo your changes
I assume its in the library files which I have been messing with, but after some deleting aiRefuelTanker.xml then renaming my KC-10 to aiRefuelTanker.xml it did not do anything
