Would it be possible for the Devs to add a way of customising missiles/rockets/bombs?

what i mean by this is more options for the weapons like bombs and missiles. Instead of having two types of missile the interceptor and guardian you could have a missile with its own custom stats.

disclaimer: i don't know that much about missile/bombs/rockets IRL or the correct terminology for their features i just was getting bored of the two in game missiles and didn't know how to build my own.

  1. changeable Target lock range from 0 km to whatever you want. Maybe you want a close range missile you set its lock range (in hangar) to 0 km min - 2 km max or you want a sole long range one you set it to 8 km min - 10 km max.
    (the longer your missile range the smaller the lock reticle is just like how the reticle is large for the Guardian missile but small for the Interceptor.)

  2. speed and missile range. Jet engines or rocket engines specifically for missiles/rockets, small and compact engines that put out a lot of thrust and power quickly as to propel the rocket or missile at high speeds through the air.
    (these engines will most likely consume a lot of fuel to move fast but maybe take a different fuel type)

  3. A choice of what kind of lock and tracking the missile does such as fire and forget or ones that require continuous radar lock or heat seeking something like that.

  4. explosive block. a block not used for building a fuselage but a block used for carrying the explosive of a bomb, missile or rocket. This block can be customised just like the fuselage block, but instead of being able to add fuel to the block you can add kg or lbs of explosive. a simple 2,2,2 fuselage block can carry 101 gallons of fuel I converted gallons to kg then kg to pounds and a 2,2,2 fuselage block can carry 842lbs of TNT or 382kg of TNT, thats a lot for a missile and small bombs but you can scale the block down smaller so that it has a more modest amount of explosive for what kind of weapon your designing. (the higher the amount of TNT in the block the larger the explosion and the more damage it does to objects and enemies)

    It's so possible right now. Look at platinum dudes, they have custom missiles.

    Also here’s a link to majority of the xml values for missiles


    Anything relating to distance (such as Range) will be in meters. Anything related to speed/velocity will be in meters per second.

    The first one can be done by modifying maxRange and minRange iirc via xml.


    Second one can be done by changing maxSpeed via xml (range can be changed as well, see first part).


    Third can be done by changing the function of the missile (AirtoAir, AirtoSurface, Multirole). It’s possible to have an air to ground guardian and an air to air cleaver.


    Fourth thing would be very cool if they ever implemented it. Anyways, hope this could help.
