a bunch of questions about the beta

35.3k V  2.6 years ago

since the sheer amount of questions i have about the beta is more than what i can fit in a comment, ill shove them all in a list here.

1: is the flight computer lighter than a cockpit wedge?

2: does fuelslage cutting reduce weight?

3: how will switches work compared to control bases?

4: will mannequins / crash test dummies be re added?

5: with some reflection settings removed, will we still be able to make mirrors?

6: how good are the performance increases? are they noticable enough to run higher part counts?

7: will there be another tournament?

8: is a funky tree command line going to be added?

9: are we able to move the camera without removing a currently loaded blueprint in the designer?

10: how will swapping between non VR and VR work when SPVR is released? being one of the few players with almost every single version of the game, (PC, IOS, android, oculus quest [when it comes out], and PCVR [when it comes out]) i would like to be able to quickly test aircraft between many platforms.

11: will there be a 1.11 update video with that funny voice actor?

more will be added later when i have more

@V if they made it so the blueprint doesn't disappear, it would be great and a lot less annoying lol
    .
    All great questions

@WNP78 thanks! With question 9, I was asking that when I go to move the camera, the picture does not disappear, so you can move your aircraft in another spot in a custom thumbnail, or zoom in on parts of the aircraft without having to place down a blueprint every time.
Right now, as soon as you move the camera, the blueprint disappears
I'm mainly an Android user, so I have to wait to see the full extent of this next week

    1. Yes, a lot
    2. No
    3. Activation groups + landing gear only right now, hopefully at some point I can integrate them with the variables system like control base.
    4. No
    5. Yes, with reflections set to realtime
    6. Mainly in aircraft load times, so won't make a big difference to FPS
    7. Don't know
    8. Debug expressions is close enough
    9. Blueprints should stick around more now, not quite sure what you're asking though
    10. If you have SPVR and SP purchased on steam, you'll have an "enable VR" button in flight to jump in and out
    11. Not sure
