Help w/ Mods

244 MossyTree  2.9 years ago

Hi, new to playing on pc, and I have a few questions regarding mods for SP.

  1. How do I download mods.
This probably sounds dumb, but when I go to download a mod, it brings me to a long page of folders and files. Is this just me, or is this the actual process. If anybody can tell me what to look for or what to do, that will be greatly appreciated.
  2. Are mods going to help me in becoming a successful SP creator?
So if I were to be able to get the mods, are they going to help with becoming a successful creator. Specifically, FreeCam or Tracks1 & 2.
  3. Are mods even worth it?
Are mods going to make gameplay more enjoyable/complex or are they just extra things that aren’t very useful.

Again, all feedback is extremely helpful and use full. Thanks,

MossyTree

Go to your regular chrome, dowoad the mod on pc/mac button. Press the mod file it downloads (no need to go file manager), then open sp, go to mods, and activate.

Well, that's a 'you' problem then. Probably something you can change in Browser settings, or some kind of settings.

@FeatherWing I found that out last night. I clicked download planes, and it took me to the steam browser, and it is much more complicated to download on it.

yeah, no, it shows something else like "upload to cloud" or "download to machine" and that's one of the reasons why I've lost spawn areas

I mean, when you download a mod and it shows up in your browser's downloads bar, you can just click it and it'll open SP and install the mod into the game files automatically.

I think MODS are great and add to the gameplay, and of course I make MODS myself to play

If you didn't get that, search up a tutorial on YouTube or something cuz that's how I learned it, lol

Steam is bad because you can't use mods offline, so download the mod, make sure in Files Manager you press/activated something like "show hidden files" or whatever, go to something that looks like this "C:" (it's basically at the very bottom of the left hand list), go to User, click on your name or whatever it is, go to AppData, LocalLow, Jundroo, SimplePlanes, and finally "Mods" where you drag the file of a mod from your downloads into there, and viola, you have mods implemented into your game system, so you can use them without the need of Steam/WiFi.

@MossyTree you'l get better at building stuff in Simpleplanes in PC because of the convinient features it has and trust me, that's how I got to my current skill level (Even dow I was already pretty good in mobile)

    1. You download mods and open the file using Simpleplanes.exe (Thats what I do)
      _
    2. Yes, mods can make u a successful creator, I use freecam mod to make good looking thumbnails, while I use track 2 mod because it has all the features of a tank
(I used it many times on all my replicas)
      _
    3. Yes, mods are worth it, but don't use to much mods in one creation, because sometimes they get annoying because u still have to download. Maps are okay dow because those are mods u keep for yourself
