Set glass transparency to a negative value to make it “glow”.
Look at EternalDarkness’ profile for a link to a custom control surface tutorial.
For flaps put little wings on rotators with 5-10 degrees of movement in the nose of the plane.
For boats use 4 small fuselage blocks with their mass scales set to 2 or 3 and maximum buoyancy.
