Who else hates how parachutes in this game work?
.
They instantly deploy and reduce speed as soon as it activates, you can’t make the size larger without it significantly ruining your speed/drag, XML’ing their mass or drag doesn’t do much, if your aircraft is very light and the parachute is very big, it’ll just fall sideways, and are highly finicky.

Does anyone besides me want them to be reworked or find them annoying to work with?
I would like them to deploy like they should and be more XML friendly.

    not a delay like that I use FT all the time with them

    once they leave the bag, and take time to unfold IN THE AIR

    It takes time for the parachute to catch the wind and unfold so it can actually do what it is suppose to.
    Very rarely the parachute won’t even open, this has happened uncommonly with Military supply/vehicle drops. In game it just opens as if a tire popped

    One of the biggest reason why SP is slow to get updates is the game is quite complex in a technical aspect. According to the Mods, the way SP is designed just makes it difficult to update and such, whereas SR2 is far less complicated and that makes it easier to update for one thing.

    tbh the parachute physics are a bit unrealistic as irl the parachute opens normally however in sp they open like an umbrella

    @Kangy you are probably right there. They have been... silent ever since April Fools and the Drama thing...
    I hope and pray that all aircraft here can transfer to there. If not imma riot

    one of many things the devs could do if they spent time here instead of sr2
    but it's kind of suspicious that sr2 has had 6 updates in the time that sp has had 1
    sp2 is surely in the works

    @KnightOfRen @WolfSpark its literally so easy to make them delayed and it's been in the game for a loooong time. And yes I am thinking of parachutes not detachers

    @KnightOfRen I hope they make a variable deploy time. So for drogue chutes or a parachuter
    Make this go viral so it could quite possibly can be made

    just make them reusable like in SR2 for hecks sake
    and also maybe an opening delay (like in detachers/pylons) would be useful
