Missile locking on obscured targets (New Technology)

37.1k EliteArsenals24  3.4 years ago

So while I was experimenting with weapons I found something strange. I accidentally found out a method that allows missiles to lock on to targets even though it is obscured. I was initially developing a method that attaches cannon projectiles with tracer trails to missiles (Which was an utter success) but unexpectedly found something more.

A while back I developed a quite similar method which I called Forced Detachment Technology. Basically it force detach a weapon to retain activation. Although it was great, it limits the effectiveness of missiles since locking is based on the main cockpit's view plus only one missile can be fired since it deactivates all active weapons that were forcefully detached. The only weapon that can be fired multiple times was the rocket pod. It was effective back then but as soon as winches were introduced to the game it eliminated the purpose of the said method.

So that begs the question, where can we use it? A lot actually but the most obvious answer are Unmanned Vehicles(Drones) this can be done with a simple integration of winches and this newly found method.

I did some test with it and you can check it out in this video

I'm still experimenting with this so I might post it a bit later. By then I will post how I did it as well as a tutorial on how to use it. There are a number of advantages and this disadvantages to this method which I will also list down on a later post. Basically I will post a detailed documentation on this.

I'm not sure if this has been done before so kindly notify me.

Missile technology advancements are fascinating! On a totally different note, I've been enjoying a game called Slope game where you navigate a ball through an obstacle course. It's a fun test of reflexes and precision, kind of like guiding a missile, but without the explosions!

@doodle jump Such an interesting technology, isn't it? But how will it work now?

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't, by subtracting where it is, from where it isn't, or where it isn't, from where it is, whichever is greater, it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance sub-system uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is, to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position where it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event of the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has required a variation. The variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too, may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computance scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is, however it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subracts where it should be, from where it wasn't, or vice versa. By differentiating this from the algebraic sum og where it shouldn't be, and where it was. It is able to obtain a deviation, and a variation, which is called "air"

@OfficialOfficialTheRyan Yup I am aware of winches being used to make drones. The obstructed targeting is what I am not sure of. And yeah I assume it has not been previously done.

T, also I have seen some people make automated scout drones using winches, like it will detach from a truck and fly to a target, and the cockpit in the drone will lock on, and from a distance an ICBM will fire or something. Don't think obsucred targeting has been done though.
