Let’s face it. Many of the build where on SP are overrated. Many of them are underrated. I know the next few sentences sound self centered and narcissistic, but here we go. I made a massive warship known as The Ausmerzer that got 36 upvotes. That’s not too bad. I look way back into SP history and find a small plane with 25 upvotes and it is featured. I haven’t got featured yet, along with lots of other underrated users. I think we need to fix this. So please, don’t do things like leave an upvote without trying it, or upvoting a build solely because of that players status, or the number next to their name.

The follower system is near useless. Barely anyone looks at the jet stream. I can agree with the latter portion (in regards to people with clout just getting upvotes easily) but the first simply isn't true, although it's clearly a hyperbole used for rhetorical purposes. I've seen more than enough 0 point uploaders strike 100 upvotes on their first build.
So was I- it wasn't I made a build that was novel, inventive, and genuinely interesting to play with that was garner a notable sum of upvotes.
it really happens, there are many simply innovative and very well crafted buildings that are forgotten, and there are also buildings made in 10 minutes being overrated
I try to leave upvotes for planes that I find generally good for bronze and silver. If you catch my attention you get an upvote and sometimes a spotlight.
I have this problem too.
@Adityo0502 Yeah, I have 34 followers, but I don't think they will ALL update my next plane. I think the plane will look really good because it already does. In my dreams, I can hope for 30 at the very, absolutely most. But it will hover probably about 9-12 realistically. The entire way up votes work is pointless and rigged.

This will always be happening and has always happened and there is nothing you can do about it. Then again, builds which you call overrated will be seen as underrated by others and vice versa.

Honestly my favorite way of getting featured was on awsomur's SPW, it was always an honor. And then he also wrote about it and you'd get an actual review of what you had made.

The feature on the front page is cool too though, although you can't get featured when you're plat (with some exceptions) and in the past devs have also let play players that never had a feature before get featured while plat.
But as players said below, you need luck. You need something a mod sees and thinks deserves a feature.
I am overrated.
Of course older planes are gonna have more recognition. They were on the site for a long time (more of a chance to see and upvote), and the community’s techniques weren’t as refined back then. Our collective build quality as a community has increased with time. Older builds that don’t look good may have been revolutionary at their time. In other words, the featured plane probably has a relevant context around it that you are missing.

Besides, features don’t mean anything. I only had one feature in my entire 4.5 years on SP, and it was given to me by the devs out of pity (I reached plat without gaining any features back when plat was really rare). That lack of features didn’t hold be back by any means.
