Another thing you can do is grab a few real blueprints of real, similar planes and use them to see if your plane is proportionate.
Just build with your imagination and use real blueprints as references for shapes. I did that for the wingtip on one of my current projects. I used the shape of the wingtip on a Cessna 180 to create a good round shape.
