Fuselages, Hollow Fuselages and Hitboxes

23.1k marcox43  4.1 years ago

well, this might be more of a rant/suggestion.
The thing is that the hitbox of a fuselage or hollow fuselage, no matter the corner style, it will always be a 4 corner 90° box.
why does it matter? well, I just made some very cool wheels for my upcoming experiment, but the hitbox ruins everything

So pls Devs, make the hitbox change according to the style of corner, or at least let us change it via xml properties on Overload...

@SonicManiaOVA will give it a try again with the new update, I have some new wheels just for this.

@Type2volkswagen yeah, that would be awesome (like in NFS Undercover and Carbono)

    Nice Wheel!

    OR

They could make the current wheels have a scale-able "Rim" that could have a Hollow, BBS, or Custom like the Propellers......

Maybe they should also add rubber fuselage with tire characteristics to help with custom tires.

Yes please, the collision model is annoying.

@SnoWFLakE0s I think I'll just make a taller tire profile, but that goes for another day.

    @marcox43
    .
You can try using the old "hollow fuselage" method to build your wheels... You'll get a better hitbox that way.

@jamesPLANESii for the Rim is just a modified version of the Rim used in my Le mans prototype, as for the tires, I copied the tires from the Prixxer, then rescaled it, then modded the weight, then scaled it again to fit the dimensions and so on... (yeah, like 4 hours of just making a wheel)

Ohh. Ok. Maybe you’re gonna have to copy the technique you used for the tire on the rim @marcox43

@jamesPLANESii it doesn't use SP wheels, it will be a fully mechanical vehicle, from the pistons to the crankshaft, passing through a gearbox, a driveshaft, etc

And yeah I agree. The fact that the hit box always acts as if the part is square is real annoying.

You could try making it so the inside spins but not the rim

@AgentofFortune nope, my issue is not with collisions with the own aircraft, but rather collisions with the ground...
