Smooth function what? could someone explain each variable of the function and its uses? and also a way to make landing gear doors?

So I realized, my dum bass is nt even fit for funky trees, honest to god, I still yet to wrap my head around negative inputs such as the -LandingGear. That's it, that is my furthest exploration to funky trees, and my future projects call for a more sophisticated, undercarriage assembly. The bit where the doors behave like in real aviation, opens first, them lets the wheels in, then closes, is there a function for that lot? Door opens, Door Stays, Wheels in, Doors in. I know smooth is used for that one, but I dont know how to utilise such feature. Also, in another project, The doors open first, then the nose wheels retract, then the ramp folds down, then the edge bits are unfolded, similar to how would an AN-124 nose would do it, so how do I delay my hinges under one AG control with smooth?

Any and every help is appreciated. My dum bass thanks you.

@CoolPeach Oh so it's "I beg to differ".
Well unless you spawn your plane with gears retracted.
I think real world aircrafts are designed with gear up as default status (because that's how it is the most of the time the plane's running)
But for SP, since we have to spawn with gear down (or your propellers would hit the ground before your gears).... yeah I think having gear down as default (since the system itself also goes this way) would make more sense to me.

I beg to differ, it actually makes more sense. Gear Deployed = 1, gear retracted = -1. @vcharng

@SnoWFLakE0s Sincerely, I pledge to disagree (is that the correct polite way to say it?)
Planes start at gear down, but GearDown starts at 1, while LandingGear starts at 0. From this perspective it's still more intuitive to use LandingGear.

With the delivery of the new beta, it makes more sense to use GearDown for FT inputs rather than LandingGear. Make sure to use that instead.

@vcharng already did some landing gear stuff recently.

smooth(x,rate) outputs a number that gradually moves towards x, at the rate of rate/second.
Ex: for smooth(x,1), if x is currently 0 then changes to 5, the output value will move from 0 to 5 over 5 seconds.
If rate is 0, the function output gets locked in place, so you can store numbers after x changes.
There was some landing gear tutorial a while back, maybe could go find it
