@MonsNotTheMonster their doctrine now focus on to perfectly balance on the three main factors, protection, mobility, and firepower
much like other modern tanks are
.
light tanks, in the other hand lacks protection, and sometimes firepower, which is why they never had light tanks right after Cold War ever since
@MonsNotTheMonster the Sheridan proved itself problematic in many ways, underpowered engine, strong gun recoil that almost broke the tank apart, unreliable FCS and not to mention, aluminium hull, which makes it vulnerable to anything with higher calibre than 7.62mm
.
although theres lots of prototypes existed which would be the successor to this tank, that includes the XM8, HSTV-L, HIMAG, Teledyne AGS, and the most recent one the M10 Booker, which all of them never went into production, even once
@localf15enjoyer It could fit atleast one M551 in the C-390
The full weight of the M551 is about 15.2 tonnes, and the C-390 can hold about 26t of payload
the cargo hold dimensions are 3m of height x 3.64m of width, i think is more than enough, because the M551 has a dimension of 2.8m of height and 2.9m of width
.
so technically speaking, yes the C-390 can carry the M551
@Ku if only you asked a bit earlier..
i have deleted it since i dont want to work with it anymore
but if you dont mind, how can i make it work by using camera to steer it but not on the missile, but on the vehicle itself (just like real life SACLOS)
@YarisHatchback you're technically right, it doesnt eat up too much part count, which means i can focus more on the exterior and interior design of the tank
@YarisHatchback It works, but its not look really that appealing to most tank enthusiast actually
it doesnt really look like tank tracks, although it functions similarly to one
NOTE:
.
Im sorry everyone, i need to remove the missile system i made, the whole system broke when i test it again after i didnt work on this tank for a few days
i decided not to fix it because its too tedious
for the 600 meters then stop, i suggest you could either use pistons and put them in which when it activates, the pistons would live the vehicle slightly off that the wheels isn't touching with the ground, stopping any movement immediately
i really liked your drawing, even if its a draft !
and this build is also a phenomenal work !
with only 310 parts, i was expecting some large ass part count
