My school has been doing lockdowns for years (as in every school in USA). Recently, they updated the lockdowns to accurately simulate a school shooting. I feel safer now, but I would feel even safer if I can let the shooter waltz into my classroom and then deck him in the head with a hard, wooden desk. Either that or grab a knife from the kitchen. Or forge a really hot sword in my school's metal shop.
