@X99STRIKER want any cheese or other flavoring for your popcorn? Im headed over to the consession stand that just popped up nearby this drama forum.
.
Anyone else want anything before i go?
@winterro i agree, i was gonna enter my blazing aquamarine prototype and/or my GP-1 racecar, but both are unrealistic in appearance and/or unrealistic in performance. Both are capable of 400+ mph 180 degree turns. I might enter the GP-1 racecar anyway though
@BeastHunter i created a mobile friendly version, it actually runs at 30 FPS on my phone, but you gotta wait a while for the game to unfreeze if you download it.
@AndrewGarrison I'm writing a list of bugs im going to send you in a bit, that comment was based off of the (blatant lack of reading of) the changelog. I think that the way it is should be inverted, as i can tap on the part to see what it is, and if i want to select it, i can tap and hold. As finding what all the parts that are connected to something can be a tedious and long process if i have to tap and hold for each one. checking the connections for this part used to take just a second or two, now it would take at least a minute or two
@AndrewGarrison i know you like the selecting parts with the connection editor feature, so why not have it be a tap/click and hold to select the part? I have found this feature useful in some cases
@WormWithLegs the rules mandate an FT formula that limits the speed, while setting the max rotational speed of the wheels really high helps, it doesnt make you go nearly as fast as you would using another type of propulsion
@DieLoaf the 2x bonus is to promote the making of VR friendly aircraft, its only happening for a limited amount of time, likely ending within the next month
@AirCrashInvestigationFLR look at the rest of the forums, theres comments on almost all of em. Simpleplanes.com works a bit different from other forum sites
Some quick clarification, can i use other sources of propulsion? (Not jet engines or prop engines)
.
I am going to bend these rules to their absolute limit
Current goals:
Time under 40 seconds.
Part count under 50
.
Just a warning, my entry will be designed for use by the in-game AI, and my be hard/sensitive to drive manually
@xNotDumb blocks have more polygons than straight blocks or .25 scales fuselages. I'm currently using labels as they have even less polygons.
.
Wait I just realized I can use the hide part feature to just remove the polygons
@xNotDumb I'm currently using a method that isn't just randomly placing parts to get to crazy numbers, am currently at 80,000 and am figuring out how to add more parts without causing errors. Going for crazy part counts is more of an engineering challenge than a design one. You have to learn how to squeeze every drop of power out of your system. As of right now, my computer CPU and RAM aren't breaking a sweat at 80,000 parts, but something else is the bottleneck. I belive I'm maxing out my VRAM at the moment, so my only way forward is pronably to reduce the amount of polygons I need to render. My goal is 100,000 parts, so there will likely be more technical challenges to overcome, like actually uploading the thing. It took 10 minutes to upload the 30,000 version, so 100,000 parts will likely cause a timeout of some sort.
.
Yes I've tried overclocking my GPU it didn't help
@simpleplayer1 its number is 43, cant see it in the photos as its only below the logo on the rear right now
Already sent my bugs off to andrew, but ill use this for any further ones i find
@X99STRIKER something other than solid grey.
Also i might make you a logo since I'm bored, what's your company name?
1: spawn them yourself
2: set day length to 180 mins, time to 12, save and forget
3: while islands have a sea floor, the space in-between islands is just an endless void into the infinite abyss.

@jamesPLANESii u running on a Samsung phone?
Ik a fix

@MrGreen
How did this car do in terms of scoring?

@CarrotSlicingCat the andrew thing was funny at first but it got out of hand
Its time to stop
@AndrewGarrison you should pin your comment about the new wheels being bugged with the colors

@SamuelJamesCastor my entry has a ton of XML editing
@WormWithLegs i did
Do not copy other peoples airplanes
@baconaircraft
@Johnnyynf it's a car
If it doesnt conform to the rules, let me know as adjusting anything with this car takes 20 minutes
@MrGreen gotta move speed.
This gets a 27 second time if it sticks the first jump
@baconaircraft, can you make this a successor to this please?
.
Welcome to your job as moderator, you will be mostly doing this most of the time
I dont see a use for this, things dont have to be connected together for them to work
this wouldnt work in VR (the cube would have to be big enough to fit the whole head with some room to spare, meaning that controls would clip through)
whats its best time on gold prix?
@MrGreen im not even close to done, ill change out this for my 30 second 400mph version once i get it working
@MontgomeryGator unlike SR2, the sea of simpleplanes is a bottomless void
@DieLoaf the 2x bonus is to promote the making of VR friendly aircraft, its only happening for a limited amount of time, likely ending within the next month
just published my entry, let the games begin...
That isnt near the amount I've got
(Please ask the other curators instead of me, its getting to the point where i cant do them all)
@jamesPLANESii disconnect all on said part, mirror, reconnect
@AirCrashInvestigationFLR look at the rest of the forums, theres comments on almost all of em. Simpleplanes.com works a bit different from other forum sites
Theres a rally challenge with a bunch of loopholes rn, lemmie grab the link to it
Edit: here
Doesn't seem to happen on my phone, whats the specs of yours?
@MrGreen dangit, theres still many loopholes i can abuse, so ill go abuse those
@MrGreen do i HAVE to use car engines?
Can i just have the engine be throttle?
(Dustofprey's car uses just pitch so ill just use throttle for the time being
@MrGreen
got it
any updates?

1000 parts? Rookie numbers.
@jamesPLANESii I'll send you a vid of me doing it
Its already on the other side, just mirror.
This gif is so relatable it pains my soul
i was not expecting this
@b00stJuNKy Freerider's Orca III, a prototype version i heavily modified for VR

It isnt realistic enough, it doesn't jam up
