@WaffleCakes The est chance if you get shot down repeatedly by those missiles, then try using just pure flares and aim for the upper "lip" of the entrance. I myself had to use +99 flares (since I suck at landing on the actual runway, but an total madman on crashing things). alternatively, you could reach the base by land (though needs to be an off-road exploratory vehicle like the Mars Pathfinder or the Perseverance rover). I would almost recommend starting from the airport, as with mobile artillery vehicles like Jackhammer, they can rain artillery shells upon those two guardians (will need modifications to cannon velocity) of the ice base directly over the mountain obscuring the view.
@8bitgamer33 I'm currently exploring, so for the main fuss of the ice base that supports ground based aircraft, I could say aim for the sea-based portion, the immediate miles of it being invisible for those missile launchers--but it seems that it was to be not unlockable---thus needing custom save point there. No other unlockable areas nearby except for glacier park to the left of the heading of Ice Base Assault (noted by the more bluish-cyan tinged landscape)--the closest there is for the game to actually autosave the point.
