Don't expect an explosive round to not cause damage. A solid slug with zero damage is possible, but the damage of an explosion is direcly tied to the size (and the smoke effect) of the explosion.
@MobileFriendly True. Especially on low-end phones, or the so-called "potatoes". I used to use one of them. Any build with more than 250 parts WILL cause significant lags back then.
That said, normally speaking, reducing your physics setting would allow builds with more parts to be loaded without lagging. Back to the topic of "potato" phones, my phone would melt from inside out if I was on high physics and loaded anything more than 150 parts, but on low physics, my phone could tolerate up to around 300 before it jams up.
@spefyjerbf Yeah, I guess the pages upon pages of coding can't really be invented in a day, I guess... Nor does the mind-boggling amount of parts needed for the streamlined hull. Also, for some reason the aesthetics of the Orbid Dynamics L-class gunship looks oddly familiar, is it something from Star Citizen or is it just a streamlined GOF II Terran Cormorant? I cannot tell.
Mr. Stark, is that you?
Yes I'm making an Iron Man 3 reference. About the "obsession" part.
Also, I guess for an eternal noob like me, I never knew if you have ever released a sub-optimal design... Like, I mean, the design of each and every one of your builds are already way beyond me so that I never saw if there was a slight drop in quality for a few builds or not.
Damn. Just damn... Also, just realized that you recycled an old forum post that's about... the construction process of New Portum and how it worked (or lack thereof) with the Unity Engine?
@SledDriver "Chase just makes me dizzy; I like to have the world stable and the airplane moving. I do like flyby view for one thing, though: when the airplane flies towards the camera, then banks and peels away when it comes close."
Damn right Sled!
@Chancey21 Yup, although I just upvoted by instinct, just why the landing geared rotators would anyone use the chase view anyways? I would have a headache less than half a minute into using chase view anyways...
P.S. For some reason I seem to be using self-made swear words a lot these days...
Yup, the old way of ejecting stuff is to just connect as many things as possible to the detacher that launches the projectile and call it a day... One thing though... Can we have, say, 5 missiles that are set up like this? Also, how do we rename weapons anyway?
@sheepsblood Well, although the craft does look mostly dieselpunk, the brass pipes connecting pretty much everything does give it some steampunk feel.
Some common aesthetics for dieselpunk are: internal combustion / jet engines, streamlined fairings, iron/aluminum parts, round/smooth wings (esp. trailing edges), exposed cannons/machine guns and the like, while some common aesthetics for steampunk are: baroque shapes, rigid lines (some streamlining might still apply, but they would most likely look like either zeppelins or ships before WWI if anything), brass pipes (esp. w/ valves and gauges), large and/or exposed gears/connection rods, steam engines/boilers (well, that where the "steam" in "steampunk" came from anyways), as well as more jagged wings and trailing edges. So, all in all, this aircraft look dieselpunk, but it would look even more dieselpunk if the pipes are made out of iron/aluminum instead of brass.
@EliteArsenals24 That "two cannons synced to simulate casing ejection" part reminded me of how two wing guns can be synced to simulate recoil/smoke/firing sounds... (or even more for recoil and casing/link ejection)
@SledDriver Neither do I.... Anyways, I just tried to say that you seemed have a penchant for modifying/fine-tuning a select few (admittedly great) airframes.... I guess being half-asleep is not exactly doing me any good for my (admittedly already lacking) communications skills...
Yes, this is the Mark XI. It has quite a few differences from the original. *Jokingly * Something tells me that someone is around as obsessed with the Blackbird airframe as Tony Stark with his exoskeleton suits...
Nice plane as usual, and... is that glowing intake one of the many enhancements compared to its predecessors?
P.S. I know you probably do not have a lore/background for this particular model as of yet (if at all, given you are among those that build airframes for their inherent beauty instead of roleplaying), but... does this airframe run on ion/plasma engines of some sort? I mean that glow looks sci-fi as hell...
I mean, it's not really as if this thing is an ocean-bound vessel, so I think the engines are fine... If anything, why the hell do the flanks of this thing resemble torpedoes?
Last time I checked, destroyers usually don't have secondary guns, and especially secondary guns with fully enclosed turrets... Should this be counted as a light cruiser instead?
@SnoWFLakE0s Smoke effect of larger calibers, on the other hand... I don't quite remember anyone saying that you can only use 70mm guns to make that smoke effect... The "center" (the sphere of fire and smoke) part of the explosion/smoke effect is around the same as a gun of 400mm caliber, although, granted, yup, the smoke effects of that one is defeating the purpose of "potato friendly"...
Cool depth charges! I myself have another method to do basically the same thing (around an year old, not uploaded, and won't be uploaded anytime soon), although mine is an amalgamation of parachutes, speed brakes, and springs so that the bomb will detonate when contacting with the surface. I ditched the rockets (for airplanes, at least) for they are a bit... fickle for they will have a fixed time to detonation after they are launched, so depending on the release altitude they may or may not detonate on target (or in the general vicinity of the target). That said, I do have my own fixed-timer ones (note: they are AG ones with secondary detachers to fire and detonate the rockets, made around half an year ago) that are designed to be launched from surface ships and low-flying aircrafts (most likely not helos for the obvious reason of blast radius) to crack open submarines.
@MintLynx Fellow aspie here, the sub is cool as hell, the engine design is also what I'd envision for one (I myself suck at art or aesthetics, but I'm somewhat good at analyzing). Also, am I the only one who thinks that whoever made this really should add control instructions? Ayways, this sub is cool and I wish to see more subs of this kind from you in the future. * sonar ping intensifies *
@RamboJutter Sorry, it's just that the only time I saw something this asymmetrical is the ski speeder - the fact that the cockpit is on one end of the wing and the cannons on the other with the engines in the middle didn't help whatsoever...
What the...

"More"... Sorry to hear that...

@MobileFriendly The designer screenshot. The Aircraft reflection looks... off.

the novel airbrake rudder system
Something to do with slip angle, I assume?
Mr. Stark, is that you?

Damn right Sled!
You do love using a lot of airbrakes to form elegant shapes, don'cha... Anyways, good job!
Good to see ya again, spef!
I just have to say that your builds make less and less sense as time passes... Anyways, cool, but sincerely it is weirding me out.
@SpiritusRaptor The "Chicago Piano", quad-mount 28mm AA guns used in WWII by the US Navy. For some reason this build reminded me of that.
Chicago Piano much?
@Chancey21 Yup, although I just upvoted by instinct, just why the landing geared rotators would anyone use the chase view anyways? I would have a headache less than half a minute into using chase view anyways...
P.S. For some reason I seem to be using self-made swear words a lot these days...
Way to go Centuri! Also... what's your gravatar?
Could anyone please tell me which part of this car resemble a dolphin? I mean IIRC the name means "dolphin" in Japanese.
Yup, the old way of ejecting stuff is to just connect as many things as possible to the detacher that launches the projectile and call it a day... One thing though... Can we have, say, 5 missiles that are set up like this? Also, how do we rename weapons anyway?

Pray tell this is not from the same 'verse as those magnificent flyers from @RamboJutter?
So... Similar to the Russian one?

Well, first the Blackbird airframe, now a psychedelic insectoid-ish airframe... I guess that what we mean by "dedication"...
@EliteArsenals24 Similar to how to add "recoil" to wing guns?
Which highschool have an MBT in their student council? I know in GuP they have WWII tanks, but modern MBTs are something else altogether...
Holy...
So... Basically a stealthy F-14 (or a variable-geometry YF-23)?
@JA311M So... the turret arrangement of the Mogami, superstructure (sans the bridge) of the Oyodo, and the mainmast of the Yamato...
Sooo.... Basically speaking, the Mogami-class with a different rear deck and larger turrets?
*More Dakka! Nevar 'nuff Dakka! Nevar!*

Holy f*, just... how...
I mean, it's not really as if this thing is an ocean-bound vessel, so I think the engines are fine... If anything, why the hell do the flanks of this thing resemble torpedoes?
Damn she's a beaut!
May the force be with you...
Last time I checked, destroyers usually don't have secondary guns, and especially secondary guns with fully enclosed turrets... Should this be counted as a light cruiser instead?
Don
't let this cruiser
's relaxed, swept-back profile fool you.
Yup, only if this thing is not literally covered in guns and missiles.
Sled! It's been for ages!

Inspired by this?
@Squirrel So that why. Cool!
Nice build... But which part of this is angelic? I mean dragons are cool, but they are no angels.
Soooo... Basically a dieselpunk version of the P-38?
