It is more than like they do this because they try and attract a new audience/generation of players by putting on sales like this as a major base line. Before I bought Simples planes(on my tablet) I hoped for a sale to be able to play(about 3.something years ago), before I just bought it. It is already known by devs and by us that no sequels (or updates) will be coming out since the between the release of Juno and trying to popularize it and the last SimplePlanes update, and that it's just hopes we can imagine and shape to our own. So yea
TL;DR: Jundroo gives out sales to attract new audiences(av geeks and others) so that they don't have to update and popularize newer features
