@Graingy Fine.
You're right.
Low blow.
I suppose if we're to move forward we'll have to stand up and walk to meet in the middle for a good handshake. Oh. Wait.
@Mousewithamachinegun123 when I was in charge the highest upvotes I ever netted was four, and it was hella impersonal.
Had a back-and-forth at one point with another (long gone, I'm sure) user with successors. That was the closest to a friendship I can possibly remember. It went, like, 3 times.
Full-on friendships must mean either the site's culture has changed massively, or reaching higher ranks comes with enormous social benefits.
@Mousewithamachinegun123 No, they aren't.
I made the account, used it to promote Graingy, gave it to Graingy, left for another assignment, and they gave the account to Grain Guy to manage it.
@Graingy The number of people there who knew good enough English to be helpful was disappointingly, but rather predictably, low.
Soians said I wasn't technically supposed to be there, so basically left me to my own devices.
@Graingy I couldn't get the translated OS to work. You expected me to read and write in fluent Ances from the start? By the time I had gained some degree of proficiency things were winding down. It didn't seem worth it to switch at that point.
@Graingy How unfortunate. I still don't take blame. It wasn't even published! I would never have published it both because A) It had an anti-Soian tone, and B) Enstrarchs don't have much of an affection for music.
Somebody must have found the paper and copied it or something.
@Graingy That was unintentional. I saw things and had a burst of inspiration one night.
And also, a mortal can hardly commit "treason" against Soia. That be like trying to insult the bloody ocean.
@DatTrainGuy19 Man what are you talking about?
Who are you, anyhow?
You know Grain Guy or something? Unlikely. Nobody ever interacted like that when I was managing the account.
@DatTrainGuy19 As if. Technically this is my alt account.
I started the account currently called Graingy almost six years ago.
I was, well, technically am, a Graingy employee working in marketing. I got hired shortly after the company went state-owned. Turned out fast, however, that, now being state-owned, Graingy didn't really need the same kind of marketing it used to.
I managed to carve out some usefulness by advertising the company's products on this aircraft forum. Was pretty successful, too. A bunch of aircraft and other things ended up listed here.
I was so successful, in fact, that the new CEO, the nice chap Geminus, proposed making it official. An official hand-off of sorts. I was still supposed to run the account, but it would henceforth go under the Graingy name.
That didn't last super long.
Some stuff happened. Graingy was now Soian, and Soia was an empire. A war started on some planet the boss had screwed about on, and the company wanted to send a correspondent independent of the Imperial (is that an acceptable word?) contingent.
Guess who?
I went off, did a surprisingly stellar job, if I do say so myself, and after spending a couple years watching the aftermath and clean-up, what do I come back to find? The account is being run by a goddamn grain of sand from MARS.
I'm pretty peeved right now, if you couldn't tell.
Now what on Earth happened here?
@Monarchii You.
You know Grain Guy, or so I hear, yes?
Huh. Enstrarch drawing.
@Graingy So be it.
+1@Graingy Fine.
You're right.
Low blow.

Oh. Wait.
@Graingy Wow. You're catching on.
I didn't think you were capable.
@Graingy Swallow gravel.

@Graingy Well, at least you did something right.
@Mousewithamachinegun123 If they got friends then the site must be different.
These upvote counts. Those aren't natural.
@Mousewithamachinegun123 Yes.
And for the love of all did Grain Guy never say anything about capitalization!?
@Mousewithamachinegun123 No, they aren't.

@DatTrainGuy19 What mood is good?
I'm pissed.
@Graingy Chrome Music Lab. Laugh all you want, it's all I had on hand.
And I have genuinely no idea how that got out. Insecure network is my best bet.
@Graingy How unfortunate. I still don't take blame. It wasn't even published! I would never have published it both because A) It had an anti-Soian tone, and B) Enstrarchs don't have much of an affection for music.

@Graingy Couldn't you just, like, not try personal attacks?
Have you ever been to a warzone?
Even an alien one, it's pretty damn scary.
@DatTrainGuy19 What Database?
@Graingy That was unintentional. I saw things and had a burst of inspiration one night.

And I completed my tour!

@DatTrainGuy19 The real one!
The OG!
That account was mine until I gave it to the company!
And what!?
The replaced me with SAND!?
@Graingy YOU!
