Thx @Verdnan Yeah, I built it on a decent android tablet. I've come across a few designs I wanted to look at that refused to download to a tablet but this has been rare. The rotor was supplied by Teus and Intencer, and I plan to use it to construct a Skycrane Helicopter - the blades weigh 7,000 lbs which is 1/2 the weight of my previous rotorcraft models.
Thanks @Intencer I used a very good quad-core Fire HDX android to build this, cause my ipad could not. However, I can download & test om both my iPhone and ipad - the only controls are the VTOL camber, the throttle, and the "stick" circle which only activates RCS on this model.
Yeah, easy to hover briefly. Personally I don't use the infinite fuel detacher - for rotorcraft I find fuel on-board essential to balance the bird. Also, forward thrust assistance is used on some rotorcraft (not all) since minimal camber lift is required in hi speed level flight.
@Intencer @Verdnan These 7,000 lb rotors belong on a Skycrane, possibly equipped with 10 VTOL engines, a project in the future for someone. (Smaller, lighter camber-lift blades will lift a 19,000 lb helo design with better in-flight stability combined with variable camber vertical lift.)
@Intencer Here is a dual water-land launch rotorcraft that uses the blades you supplied. Liftoff only works if you hold the control stick Full Back on takeoff.
Yes since this model disappeared from "rated" models despite receiving complements by the SP Dev staff @Elite8855 - I am entering Battlestar Pegasus (BSG Series) - it was posted a few hours ago.
Agree with you. However, I meant forward thrust not vertical. Even "good piloting" will get you just a few feet off the ground before SP dynamics override stable, forward motion. @Verdnan
Hey folks, IMHO rotor lift is required! But due to lack of swashplates in gizmos, some forward thrust is always needed in SP models currently. I've already posted too many chopper birds to enter this contest; all the six star ratings go to photogenic models NOT TO WORKING MODELS so, best of luck!
No not a hangout, but I've just used other's. I have used my Google account internationally for personal business. SP games appear to revolve around reddit postings & messaging. @Zing2000
I use only mobile devices for testing, they are very fast devices, but No Keyboards. Maybe I missed something on your boat, the brakes work fine, the SIM speed is very good, but that steering cone behind the rotator seems to provide me no steering. A small water fin attached to the cone could give left right steering? @Zing2000
@Zing2000 thank you; BTW my most popular " Patrol Boat" goes 96 MPH in the SIM world...I received No points for it yet there are at least 6 copies posted on SP. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Your boat is a 5 star boat, so is mine. I should have added an extra point, in hindsight. Guess I do not dwell on points very much, instead I enjoy the creative possibilities of SP. Of course, none of the speeds are real, this is sim city! @Zing2000
Agree this is an SP simulation artifact, yet most "fast" boats I test posted by others go turtle unless kept in a straight line, and other reviewers have also noted this (but this boat flaw does not stop them from giving good ratings). Stability is an item that I like to find in a model. @Zing2000
@Zing2000 A cute, personal boat here! But as for speed & maneuverability, my latest Luxury Yacht Fishing handles turns at any speed, and flat out exceeds 225. Check it out when you can.
FYI this fictional craft has notorious flight characteristics. Even so, I've posted a functional, flightworthy model and received no comments or ratings. I may just re-post mine to see if anyone cares about the Viper spacecraft.
@ElijtheGeat Been there, done that via multi-thrust models, but I find the bladed propeller element as dead weight in "this" group, IMHO. Good luck, you may get some strange entries!
I like overall looks, but can't control it. The only circular wing designs that I've observed to "work" have the CM way, way out front. Good luck, I like your attempt!
Thank you @Vikdesigns - I did not use rotator blocks here, and a swept wing look would be neat! A couple attempts others have posted that use those blocks for wings are somewhat ungainly airborn, and my priority was good aero performance.
Works fine!

I just submitted Pelican Waterbird IV, built from scratch, using @Teus 7,000 lb rotors. @Intencer @maverickvii @Verdnan

@Elite8855 I've enjoyed seeing postings, in this category. I'll post an update of a very recent model of mine.

@Wormforce something autocorrected my msg above.
BTW @Workforce my mobiles don't have "yaw" so I always change your rudder to either roll or pitch prior to launch, for your future reference.
Brilliant given the water vehicle size, you got a mobile-friendly version that's terrific!
Air launch works well! Air launch is not rated by most SP user's at the moment but that could change. Beautiful design!
Done well for the design, which was not inherently stable to begin with. Fun to test this model!
Thanks @Gault @Ibu @DethFromAbove @Wakescar @DADOU

Sounds interesting, yes. @Zing2000
Thx @Zing2000
Haven't depended on utube for my info, yet. I 'm on Google and Reddit. What channel do you refer to? @Zing2000
OK but I already added that extra star on rating. @Zing2000

@ElijtheGeat I just submitted "Strange Warthog" in this contest (I don't believe I plugged you cockpit in, though). My strange entry!

Great detail, with realistic armaments and speed. This took a lot of work!
Excellent balance, implementation, and the roll and pitch rates are likely better than the real article!
Thanks @Wakescar
Yes I thought so also, @Ofnir Thx.
Thx @KingYamami
Mind if I try these rotors out on new designs? @LAZERETCHED?
For the rotors!
Excellent appearance, flys well!
For unique rotors! Next, a full flight version?
Yeah this one is massive, but a working semi-replica of the movie's ship, also massive @DADOU -I also posted a small mini version that's truly VTOL.
Thank you @KingYamami
Really like using those pitch-controlled thrust nozzles, with the resulting extreme agility.
Thanks, this was a challenge for me to get 8 sources of lift/thrust to balance for basic air-worthiness! @Gault @Ibu @DethFromAbove @Wakescar
Like the design! Yes, it can be launched, but I'd prefer more air flight and fewer water plunges.
Autocorrect hit above response @Elite8855

Okay @Elite 8855 I'll try again. Note my Hi Altitude Serenity Spaceship, posted with full instructions.
Very good, especially the effective nozzle vectoring. I'm going to do that technique sometime! Good maneuvers, surprising with the CM & CL so close.
I guess spaceship models just gotta look awesome? Hints, anyone, on how to gain altitude and level flight with this design?
