I apologize for confusion. Speaking for former Lockheed engineers (yes I'm former) the S-3 Lockheed ASW design flew mail onto US AC Carriers, also dropped sounoboys to expose potential fleet enemy submarines. Also was equipped to fire " beyond visual horizon" AC to ship missiles. I am merely an engineer. Cannot speak for the elite (game world) SP creators.
@Noman0rumeral OK. Upgrades: S-3 Viking can carry & launch two USN Harpoon missiles. Armed with conventional or special warheads. (SP is turning into a role-player weapons "game", maybe.)
Ok if you say so. Under simplePlanes the cockpit aircraft (with weapons) controls the entire flight profile. Including weapons aiming & release. And the aiming is simply a matter of good luck. Good luck will blow off the entire castle and front bow of the USS Tiny @Halfstrike
@Halfstrike I did that many moons ago without AI or Steam. To toe the party-line for SP, Steam is gold money, I do not "diss" Steam. That being said, I built AC carriers and launched SP game flyers with payloads and only posted a few. Good luck on your interactive ai question, it's a valid question.
@UnknownNate Correct, not this one. It hovers until it reaches the ocean. Re-design is required. Want a big one that works on mobiles? About 12 people on SP can do that. Would you like to see a contest?
No, no anti-gravity used here. But there is a special spine in this one: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/HY0m6B/Steampunk-Missile-Dreadnaught
@Halfstrike
Thank you, @TheLatentImage This was one tricky thing to even get airborne. I gave Skua some suggestions, and he just posted a better version than this one, in my opinion.
Yeah, that post was built before the newer "sizable" section structures were released by SP. There is one VTOL engine on it you might choose to put into subassemblies, the fast one. Your call. @AaronSonAirCrafts
Understand. But the detacher glitch does not work on all platforms, SP disabled it on my desktop version. This model is powered by only 2 engines, internal. I could add as many as I want....but, then, that would get the problem of "blow up on the runway." @Halfstrike
Thx for the vote! This one is "silly fast" with a negative-weight body. Had to add ballast just to launch. Pull it apart and find out what is inside... @PlanesAndThings
Thx for the vote! Yes, my iOS got to 890,000 feet also, but, my android blew past 1,000,000 feet! Each Mobile "SP" release has different software. @Halfstrike
Yes, I can blow up negative weight builds, too, it's fun! But the latest OSX desktop version does not blow up anything, though all my mobiles crash upon blowup. Fun. @Kimo
Yep, this is my fastest prop plane, so far. I messaged you with a link to my use of a spine inside a 3.5x4.5 earth-to-space model posted yesterday. @Nickasaurus
To all: my android tablet gave this model 1 million feet, my OS X desktop gave this model 890,00 feet. So, software? Anyway it's a high-flyer, and a bit unexpected. This is a test -- what very light, unbreakable designs can do --- they are clearly not the Snoopy Video dogfight video. That's a different area of design.
Thx again. Findings: some platforms of mine go crazy if I launch a Modded feel cell build. Other platforms do not, (MY OS X is very forgiving to SP quirks, but I rarely use it for uploads since SP is a Mobile Audience.) @Kimo
Thanks! @sheepsblood Feel free to copy the ship body; caution, it is not easy to modify -- some parts mirror some parts do not, it's a matter of try & test. Good luck!
Outstanding! You implemented one key capability others ignore: internal weapons release.
@UnknownNate Try 40% power.
Plz chew up a building!

I like the active folding wings!
So far,I do not submit models that requires AI. That could change in 2 days. That's low-priority today.

@Nxcaliburn Thx! Speed is easy, the control is more difficult.

@Bravon Thanks!
Thanks, @Bravon

Thanks @Dynimerous
@Halfstrike Cannot access any XML on my platforms. When users post public mods on the main website, I often use a modded part.
Thank you, @SteadfastContracting

Thank you, @Sergo585
Well done!
Thank you, @Kimo
I just posted an earth to moon vehicle, check it out. @Nickasaurus
@SyntaxError @Sirstupid is 50% correct. The other 50% is classified, as in how to change protons into neutrons.
Very nice replica!

@AaronSonAirCrafts Sure: down+copy my "Crazy Ivan" Mikoyan-Gurivich Mig25 and improve it. It needs to look like a real MiG-25.
Great MIG, make more!
Will do. @Nickasaurus

BTW it has 3 jet engines inside the main fuselage--a very common SP trick, even WalrusAircraft does that. @Noman0rumeral

Yea, fun with physics! Thx @Delphinus
Thank you! I was attempting to prove to @Delphinus that light-weight highly modded AC model really worked. @Kimo
Thx! This is the Unlimited Reno Class. @Noman0rumeral
Thank you,@Noman0rumeral
@Kimo OK. I just posted an enormous near-blimp model that reaches over 900,000 feet. A research.vehicle, a test of things to come.
Superb build!

Crazy!
