I've heard all pro and cons opinions about the SP upvotes. Some people (including me) consider them as a display of appreciation for a good build, others a morale boost (especially for beginners, for me was nice when I was a silver and a respected veteran like Thealban upvoted me ), others a display of status (gold or platinum player demand more respect... right). Others consider those points worthless, not real etc...
I respect all opinions. Personally, upvotes on this community means less and less lately. It was exciting for me at first. Probably cause I love RPG games when you gain XP and levels...Now, I have 12 finished projects, well, finished like 95%, cannot find motivation to go the last 5% and upload them.
Points are easy to make. Post the same build 3-4 times, with different colors. Host a challenge. Post silly things, your friends will automatically upvote because social obligations.
Now the funny thing 🤣
Did a little detective work (slow boring Sunday) on people claiming upvotes are nothing 🙂 Guess what I found?
So, if those points mean N0thing to you, why do you have platinum rank as a GOAL in your bio?
Why do you have "anniversary" posts like "50k". Forums or airplane post.
Why do you upvote those posts and congratulate the owners?
Whatever
The smart thing to do is to stop blaming people for having different views and opinions. Let them love or hate points. That includes me, calling a member of my primate clan a point farmer for posting different liveries of the same aircraft.
The VR clipboard/map can collide with objects. I noticed this when I clipped the clipboard into a seat attached to a detacher and it moved, and eventually exploded when I fiddled with it enough (Using this craft, should be easily replicated). This bug may have also caused my plane to explode but I'm not too sure about that.
Hello, nice plane but the yoke acts really weird? I VR tested it and when I roll the joystick base moves left. Also the trim, landing gear and VTOL levers are a bit far
@FeatherWing About the turret, since it automatically returns to its neutral position it's essentially impossible to aim for keyboard users
EDIT: I was not thinking about mouse controls
As much as I love this build, there are a few problems:
1. Turret movement isn't the greatest, I feel that it could have been better with something like sum((-Roll)-(Roll))
2. No trim, trim would be useful if the turret is in use
This is a pretty cool challenge, but maybe extend the deadline to something like the 20th? I feel that would make this challenge more assessable to more people but idk lol
This is nice, but I feel like this would get shot down instantly if you tried to sink a ship.
Edit: I have tested this and I do get shot down in a few seconds
very epic
rewards may take a while due to upvote cooldown
good job
1st place: @ChamDel78
2nd place: @ThatDr42
t
I just realized that I named the build as something not very family friendly and I cannot update XML because android is being weird
Can I submit multiple entries? I have too much builds that can be completely pooped on
Ok I understand now
@FairFireFlight Hold on. can you rephrase that? I'm not understanding
aerodynamics travesty
Looks yummy 😋
+2Funny thing about internet points...

I really love the looks of this but i do think its a bit small for a regional airliner

@FeatherWing Idk why I couldnt find it lmao

@RobloxMan It's superior anyways lol
@NatsukiHoshino Those points are confusing, I think you mean headwind component and crosswind component relative to a set heading
@DatRoadTrainGuy19 control yourself
+1amazing
Very nice! It looks detailed but simple
+1This is pretty cool but where is the ammo stored?
+3Edit: Theres only 10 shells that makes sense
This is cool. I've actually seen the harv irl it's pretty cool
+1@Dathcha I can confirm that is true
May I take the wheel assembly of this to use for my own locomotive? I'm not smart enough to do it myself :P
build by @realSavageMan find the build here
If the propeller explodes and/or doesn't produce thrust, please download the Non-Vr Version: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/knwC4F/Grumman-C-1-NON-VR
@OPwindu Download the Non-Vr version linked in the description
+1@alexJgameYTukraine The original plane was probably like this as the main landing gear on the real thing is very far forward
+2@Maximan You sure can lol, remember to add the wing braces that I forgot to add. Although I am planning to improve this also.
@MitchellAviation you got it!
ok
+1@Reworkable yes
what if i jump in
@LockheedLover Happy birthday hope you enjoy this
@Keth I may but it seems a bit beyond my building capabilities
+1@InsertNameHere01
@sausage978 Pitch
@Vincent Can you make this build a successor to Walvis' Airlift Challenge? Thank you in advance.
+1Nice build but no variable incidence wing >>>>>:((((((
+2@MrCOPTY This is Vectors plane on drugs
+2May I use the walking code for one of my builds?
@MitchellAviation yes
This is very cool, but why are the control surfaces so small lol
This is nice, but I feel like this would get shot down instantly if you tried to sink a ship.
Edit: I have tested this and I do get shot down in a few seconds
Any idea when the results will come out?
