@FGW2014 We should update the myth to have him build cyborg legs for himself and go on to conquer all of Olympus. His superhero name would be "The Heph."
@FlyingThings Well, my builds are not set in the Star Trek universe, so there's no comparing the two. And there's nothing stopping you from reverse engineering my technology, it's all there in the XML...
@Stingray It's possible to do better than a kamikaze landing at the Snowstone base. If you have a small enough hover-drone with a BombCannon, you can destroy the defenses, then gently ease into the tunnel. A small aircraft with a BombCannon would do as well, but require more skill to land on the covered runway without crashing.
@Stingray Worth the investment? My answer will always be a resounding yes. Some things just aren't possible without a large, high-res monitor, high-precision mouse and 104-key keyboard. I actually refuse to use tablets and mobile phones (for anything other than making calls) because I find them so limiting. I prefer to be chained to my desk because a desktop computer gives me so much more power.
@Stingray With my hover-builds that have cannons, like Incendius, it's possible to selectively destroy the cannons, missile launchers, and flak cannon on the destroyers, by matching speeds with them at close range and targeting them carefully with cannon fire. This leaves the ships themselves intact but powerless.
@Stingray Not sure I've experienced that, unless you mean how the destroyers escorting the Beast lock on to you and start launching missiles if you attack them or the Beast. I find those pretty easy to take out with my bomb cannons. Now that it's possible to make rapid-fire bomb autocannons, it's even easier.
@Stingray I'm assuming you mean guided bombs that could be flown into the missile base, like kamikaze aircraft? Destroying that annoying missile base was my first goal, too. Have you noticed that if you launch bombs at low speed at the base, there are two lasers next to the missile launchers that will lase the bombs and blow them up?
My hardware platform is a pretty standard (if high-spec) PC running Windows 7.
@Stingray Thanks. As a matter of fact, it's very easy to land this. Approach at about 50% throttle and about 100 feet above runway altitude, and just before passing the end of the runway, throttle down to zero (do not cut the engines, throttle down gently). Keep the nose up and it will land beautifully in a very short distance.
Cutting the engines suddenly will result in... unexpected... behaviour.
The flared rear fuselage does make it look a little Russian, I suppose. I just decided on that shape at random, not intentionally trying to mimic any design.
It's very easy to add any of the standard weapons to a massive airframe like this, I just don't bother because I find them quite boring, compared to my bomb cannons :) It's a lot more fun to line up the perfect enfilade approach and hit all three ships in a fleet in one go.
Flat-bottomed wings create the most lift, followed by semi-symmetrical, then symmetrical with the least lift. If you invert any wing, yes, it will produce downforce.
Thanks, @Ihavenorealideawhatiamdoing. You'll probably like my upcoming series, then.
Thanks, @BaconRoll . My bio is like a litmus test to distinguish the winners from the losers. Losers are going to hate it; winners will like it.
@FlyingThings I don't really have a universe that I've thought through, I've been making it up as I go along.
Yeah, but not all of them have names that sound good @Ihavenorealideawhatiamdoing
@Tessemi Not at all. Do you see a resemblance?
@FGW2014 We should update the myth to have him build cyborg legs for himself and go on to conquer all of Olympus. His superhero name would be "The Heph."
Thanks, @Aarons123
@FGW2014 Could not walk? I didn't know that.
@PyrusEnderhunter That's exactly why I'll never make a build titled Hermes...
Gonna run out of Greek deities soon, though @Ihavenorealideawhatiamdoing
Thanks, @BaconRoll
Thanks, @Z3RO
@BenOwlet Why not, maybe some time soon.
@FlyingThings It appears that some erosion is inevitable. We can control the location of it, but cannot eliminate it.
Thanks, @Aarons123
@Aarons123 Thanks. You might like this one, then.
@BenOwlet Nothing especially smithy or fiery about this one, but here it is, for what it's worth.
@FlyingThings Well, my builds are not set in the Star Trek universe, so there's no comparing the two. And there's nothing stopping you from reverse engineering my technology, it's all there in the XML...
@DJ123 Thanks. And don't worry, I will.
@BenWins In a word, scripting.
Figure on waiting a while. I'm a busy man @Blue0Bull
Hello, @Aarons123
Glad you like it, @DemonSniper8 @Ihavenorealideawhatiamdoing
Thanks, @BaconRoll, it's good to hear that.
@grantflys Maybe... this is literally ten times larger than your airplane, though.
@alexchub1 Not bad. FYI, I only started using scripts since this build. Before that, it was all done manually.
@villulennuk As many as I like. Why?
Oh yes, I'm a professional comedian, @FGW2014
@TannerSR Why, what happens then?
@FGW2014 I know, but thought I might as well say that.
@FGW2014 Nope... I'm not here to compete with anyone. I'm just doing my own thing.
@harveyrobinson8 Shut up, go away, and never comment on my posts again.
@Stingray SledDriver Industries has you covered.
@Stingray We can hope...
@DarthAbhinav In the way that your signal-to-noise ratio is very low.
@DarthAbhinav You know, you obviously think you're very funny, but I have to say this: I find you very annoying.
@DarthAbhinav I made similar airplanes a while ago, my Raven series.
Also, instead of posting a bunch of short comments, it helps if you post one longer comment. Better signal-to-noise ratio.
(And it's 184 days, to be precise.)

@Stingray Yeah, makes for a great weapons platform, doesn't it?

Thanks, @BaconRoll. It's lethal as well, with its bomb-autocannon.

@Stingray What do you mean by "destroy radar bullseye targets?"
@Stingray Thanks. As a matter of fact, it's very easy to land this. @DarthAbhinav @Aarons123 Let's not turn this into YouTube comments, guys. Try to keep 'em meaningful.
Thanks, @DarthAbhinav
