@ballisticbullets I've already given away my VTOL tech and weapons :) I meant my ideas. You can copy a design, but you can't copy the thing that comes up with the designs.
@Spectre2520 Depends on how much imagination you have. To me, this is the best of both worlds: the look of a prop driven monoplane without the annoying noise and rotating blades obscuring your view.
@Chancey21 yeah, that's how i like my planes to fly. I use a keyboard so any control input is either full on or full off. Hence dual-sensitivity pitch input and gentle rolls.
@PlanesOfOld I disagree with the philosophy that "I've seen better before, so I won't upvote this." Most people on this site treat upvotes not just as if they were money, but money coming out of their pockets. It's pathetic.
You've seen better before, so you don't care about encouraging new users? That's not very civic-minded. If new users don't get encouragement, they'll quit and the community will stop growing and eventually die.
I don't recall ever getting any criticism, constructive or otherwise from you, so I don't know what you're referring to. And I've no desire to "challenge" anyone to build something my way: I'm not a narcissist/egomaniac/herd thinker. This is a game, people should play it as they please.
@PlanesOfOld If you don't upvote much, I don't think you're a good SimplePlanes citizen. Regardless of how much you upvote, you obviously noticed this build and still chose not to upvote it. Then you go on to challenge me... I know it's common behaviour on this website but that doesn't make it OK.
@Spectre2520 And another thing, anyone who says I'm breaking the game physics is only saying that because otherwise they'd have to accept that they can't make an airplane that flies as well as any of mine. It's easier to blame the game engine, accuse me of cheating, etc. It's called "ego preservation," and it's what keeps the vast masses of people from realising their potential.
@Spectre2520 Er, no, that's completely wrong. SimplePlanes physics is very accurate (if somewhat simplified), and none of my builds "break" the game engine's rules. The only things I'm doing in SimplePlanes that cannot be done in real life are:
unlimited thrust
hidden and scaled wings
super-powered weapons
Occasionally I tweak mass and drag to unrealistic levels, but that's not essential. Most of my builds have realistic total mass and, if anything, err on the side of too much mass. Lots of players can only make builds that fly well with unrealistically low mass.
I find it annoying that people bad-mouth the game all the time. Personally, I'm grateful that a game like this even exists. Most of the things people complain about ("simple" drag model, for instance) are essential, because the game is meant to run on mobile devices. Without those simplifications, all the mobile players wouldn't even have a game to play.
Most players already have a hard time building anything that flies remotely well. Do you think that's because all those players are superb aeronautical engineers, and the game just doesn't understand their advanced designs? If the developers added a realistic drag/lift model, what do you think would happen then? You'd have maybe--maybe--ten players who were able to build anything that flies at all. And you'd need very powerful computers to be able to run the game at all.
If only players would take a little time to understand how the game physics works, they could build the things I do just as easily. But they don't want to do the work.
@Spectre2520 Not really, more like "blocks that look smaller than they actually are." Or you can think of it as a force field/invisible shell around the blocks.
@Spectre2520 As for creativity (thanks), everyone has it to some degree, but most people never exercise that ability, so it withers away. Just try new stuff, lots of it, and you'll get better. Your "Droplet" is a good improvement over your earlier builds. Keep going. Also, you can't be very creative on a phone or tablet. A Real Computer (used properly) is a much better tool -- an amplifier for the mind.
Thanks, @AWESOMENESS360. I meant that they're not primarily ornamental. They look beautiful because they're designed for speed and power, the way a jaguar, a shark, or a fighter plane is beautiful. We're hardwired to respect and admire strength, speed, etc., and almost all my builds are designed with those attributes exaggerated a great deal (huge engines, fast-looking airframes, big weapons, and so on).
@Spectre2520 You're probably talking about the ones with the "stealth" fuselage blocks (cornerTypes 3,1,3,1,3,1,3,1) with rotate set to 0,0,45. With a fuselage block like that, the hitbox for the curved edges is still square, i.e. it extends beyond the visual edges. That's what makes them "float." They're actually resting on the hitboxes.
@IanPlaysGames825 yes, it's a function of drag. If you keep the drag the same as this demo build, it'll go at the same speed. If your build needs to be larger, you can use zero drag blocks for part of it.
@ChallengerHellcat For starters, zoom in until the build fills the view. Use colors/finishes that stand out more against the background. If you have the Steam version of SP, you can install designer mods to change the background and remove the circular platform.
@ThomasRoderick It's actually based on the Northrop Gamma 2D.
@ballisticbullets I've already given away my VTOL tech and weapons :) I meant my ideas. You can copy a design, but you can't copy the thing that comes up with the designs.
@CRJ900Pilot Sure, go ahead.
@Americancheese12 If you modify a build and upload it, it keeps a reference to the predecessor and gives credit automatically.
@Countache27 OK, that actually sounds interesting. I'll see what I can do.
@Spectre2520 Depends on how much imagination you have. To me, this is the best of both worlds: the look of a prop driven monoplane without the annoying noise and rotating blades obscuring your view.
Thank you, @Americancheese12
@LiamW Yep. If you ignore it it eventually dies down.
@ChallengerHellcat Thanks, that's what I was going for. Yeah, a bomber is in the wings.
@ballisticbullets I have enough tricks up my sleeve, I can afford to be generous :)
@Cynister I like to keep things simple :)
@Chancey21 yeah, that's how i like my planes to fly. I use a keyboard so any control input is either full on or full off. Hence dual-sensitivity pitch input and gentle rolls.
@PlanesOfOld yeah, i think it's best if you resume not looking at my stuff.
@Chancey21
Thanks
It flies the way I like a plane to fly, smooth and steady. Also, when did you fly an An-225?
Really? I never noticed! Take a look at the way the wings are built. Then tell me how to add control surfaces to them.

@PlanesOfOld Yeah, but you started it.
Well thank you, @Countache27
@PlanesOfOld Mmmm I love it when people who've never upvoted my builds challenge me, as if I owed them something.
Thanks, @hellcatz
Thanks, @Sgtk
+1@Jetliner101 Merci boo-coo.
@Cynister Nope, can't say I have.
Thanks, @RailfanEthan
@Cynister Cool, clever idea.
Thanks, @FlyingThings
Thanks, @Mumpsy
@CRJ900Pilot Yeah, thought it was about time. Bombers coming soon.
@Mostly Thanks, although that's surprising. Why, because of the landing gear? :)
@Stingray You mean you're struggling with the flight mechanics of this thing? Or with SP flight mechanics in general?
It handles really well, but what's with the doubled-up tyres? The black ones are hooked up to the throttle, and the blue ones to pitch...
@Spectre2520 easy :) All we need is engines with arbitrary thrust, and scaled wings.
@Spectre2520 Ideas worth communicating can't be conveyed in 2 lns of txtspk. Sorry, but that's how it is.

@Luckcity23 By thinking outside the box :)

@Spectre2520 Yeah, the rotators will come. I'm a little busy these days.
Thanks, @123Planebuilder @Countache27
@bang091 I believe @FGW2014 was kidding. Thanks, though.
Thanks, @RailfanEthan

@Spectre2520 the fuselage blocks have a buoyancy attribute.
@Christopher2106 A few more engines and it'll be perfect :)
@Christopher2106 That's just the visual effect, those things don't actually produce any thrust.
@ChallengerHellcat No problem. Try taking better screenshots, the ones you have make the build very hard to see.
