I haven't tested this, but it should be possible to make a fully-submersible submarine if you XML edit the cockpit and a VTOL engine to be waaaaay up high, out of sight.
@Oicraftian I'm not sure I understand what you mean - they're all wings, structural wings still act as wings in every sense. Structural panels don't, but you didn't use those (on the Zero, at least). I tested it without the extra wing sections just to see, including moving the CoM to stay roughly where it was in relation to the now-different CoL. I got the drop in handling ability that was expected. Can you upload one of these more agile versions without the extra wing sections so I can see?
@DeezDucks I'm sorry for not responding, I was offline for the last week or so. Your plane is absolutely gorgeous so I figured that late is better than never and made you this
@skyhigh222 I've heard of him, but I don't really watch any YouTubers. Draegast is welcome to use anything I've made (I think he actually already has used something of mine), but I don't think that particular one would make for a very interesting video - after all, it doesn't do anything well except go in a straight line really fast, at a specific altitude
They're not for rotating, they're for moving parts along each axis by a very small amount. They are extremely useful, though, it would be nice to have them on mobile
That is actually what happens, you can still win a fight with a couple of parts shot off. I won the WWII challenge with an engine missing a couple of days ago. The issue is that generally you don't get hit by just one bullet
@Beast34 and also @Sirstupid since I suspect you'll be having the same issue, AppData is a hidden folder by default. There's an option in File Explorer to make hidden items visible. If you're in Windows 10, go to the View tab at the top, then tick the checkbox for "Hidden items" that's near the right-hand end of that menu.
Note that it's hidden because normally you don't want to mess with anything in it, so don't touch anything you don't understand and back up anything you change.
@WhenGoatsFly it is, sort of. If you're on Wnndows, Android, or OSX, you can edit your planes with a text editor to bypass the limits of the game's editor. iOS doesn't let you do this, but you can save parts from other planes in your subassemblies or request parts here on the forums
@JolanXBL I don't actually use it all that much, I admit, but the amount of stuff available there is pretty impressive. I hadn't seen the original one you posted before, those looks like some seriously high-quality models
@hadesrocksz here you go. It's not perfect, the game seems to impose an upper limit on how many shots you can fire per second. I made it as fast as I could without getting gaps between the bullets, and limited it to short bursts so that it wouldn't ruin the effect too much
There's no way that I know of to make it go up with both ends of the VTOL slider, but you can give it a range of 0 in one direction. Would that be good enough?
Landing gear can't really be modded, unless you're talking about actual mods that add content to the game. Guns can be edited through xml editing, though, which is much easier and usually what people mean when they say "modding" on here. You can do that by going to C:\Users[you]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns and editing your planes in a text editor, if you're on Windows. Apple systems have a different file path that I can get if you need. AppData also may be a hidden folder, so if you can't find it, be sure to enable those
@Aussietonka no bother, I'm not fussed about points, it's just nice to know that people are enjoying the stuff I built. You'll get the points soon enough, I'm sure!
@XVIindustries I thought that was a bit weird. You're right about the bombs, I can't aim any of the dumb weapons for love nor money. I nearly missed the bridge going lengthways when I was testing General360's A-10
@Meawk if you have Windows 10, hit windows+G to bring up the game bar, which has a screen recorder built in. If you're on a different system, lemme know and I'll find out for you
@Meawk SimplePlanes should make it pretty easy for you, although I haven't tested it. Go to your settings and there should be an option to enable EveryPlay replays
I'm not in need of a plane, but if you need something to do you could try NovaTopaz' Ace Combat challenge

@Samwise hey, I've been away so I couldn't respond. Did you ever get the prop you needed?
@dsr1aviation I'm gonna try to get through all the help posts that I missed haha!
@Candyshop780 I wrote a sort of introductory guide to XML editing in the comments of this (two parts). Feel free to ask about it

@dsr1aviation whaddup, sorry, I've been away for a week.
@RedHawk I can try but I'm not all that good at this stuff. How big does it need to be?
@skyhigh222 I've heard of him, but I don't really watch any YouTubers. @DatsunVehiclesCompany you need to get rid of the space between them for it to work
Sign up for gravatar and set up your profile picture there, then go to manage account and enable gravatar. It'll take a little while to show up
@Spikerya does it look that complicated? I'm sure you'd be able to do a good job of it
@DatsunVehiclesCompany how on earth did you end up on a two-month-old post? But anyway the format is
So, for example:
Shows up as a useless website
Edit: sorry Cedy, your comment hadn't shown up when I started writing this
@Sirstupid http://www.ricksdailytips.com/view-hidden-files-and-folders-windows-8-1/
@hadesrocksz it looks really good dude, I'm looking forward to testing it

@FenixAlfa that's not something you've done wrong, links just don't work in the descriptions of planes. You can leave a link in the comments, though
@Beast34 again, was it the AppData folder that you couldn't find?
@Sirstupid was it the AppData folder you couldn't find?
HENSCHEL P.75

It's probably best to back up your AircraftDesigns folder and reinstall it
My main thought was "AI? YAAAAAAAASSSSSSS"
@hadesrocksz ahh, sorry dude
@Rohan hah, I never thought of that. NIce one!
@hadesrocksz here you go. It's not perfect, the game seems to impose an upper limit on how many shots you can fire per second. I made it as fast as I could without getting gaps between the bullets, and limited it to short bursts so that it wouldn't ruin the effect too much
@DeezDucks sure, I'll get back to you in a bit
@MediocrePlanes huh, I genuinely didn't know that hahaha. @Meawk it should still work, you'll just have to start recording while not on SP
@hadesrocksz cool, I'm working on something else just now but if nobody else gets back to you soon, I'll get you one
@MediocrePlanes eh... not that I know of. Like, in SimplePlanes or Windows generally?
There's no way that I know of to make it go up with both ends of the VTOL slider, but you can give it a range of 0 in one direction. Would that be good enough?
@hadesrocksz it would still work if me or someone else edited one and you saved it to your subassemblies
@MediocrePlanes yeah?
@hadesrocksz I know some folk edited the wing guns to fire so fast that it looks like a constant stream, is that the kind of thing you're looking for?
@Meawk apparently it's F10 to record your screen on Windows 8

@hadesrocksz tag me when it's up and I'll check it out
Drone! It's different, and if there's a working mothership under it then it's even better
@RocketLL I think XVI was more or less right about quantity over quality
@Aussietonka no bother, I'm not fussed about points, it's just nice to know that people are enjoying the stuff I built. You'll get the points soon enough, I'm sure!
@XVIindustries I thought that was a bit weird. You're right about the bombs, I can't aim any of the dumb weapons for love nor money. I nearly missed the bridge going lengthways when I was testing General360's A-10
@skyhigh222 yeeeaaah the physics get a bit messy above 15,000mph or so
@Meawk if you have Windows 10, hit windows+G to bring up the game bar, which has a screen recorder built in. If you're on a different system, lemme know and I'll find out for you
@Meawk oh sorry, I thought you were on iOS just from looking at the first plane on your page. Which OS are you on?
@Meawk SimplePlanes should make it pretty easy for you, although I haven't tested it. Go to your settings and there should be an option to enable EveryPlay replays
Go to their profile page and click the star next to their name and points
@RocketLL it's a positive one! You've saved me from looking for the answer and taught us both something
