Thank you all. We'll try and get something cool done once we have all five of them finished.
Plane files are typically only 10kb or so. Rather than downloading them with the download button, though, there's a much easier way: copy the plane's URL, go to the builder in SimplePlanes, and then press ctrl+L.
As for transferring them: yes, but not if it's an iPad.
@drdoom222 first off, please calm down with the exclamation marks and ones. That's just irritating. Second, attach any normal missile to a detacher and give the detacher an action group, that will do what you're asking for.
It would be nice to have an easy way to access the tournament status page. I think the link was only given at the start of the Twitch chat and then passed around between users there.
@dubstep in the comments of this post, there's a sort of introductory guide to xml editing. Look for the blue headings. I didn't mention guns in it, but basically you want change the values for things like bulletWeight and muzzleVelocity.
@picy I know it seems like maths sucks now, but even the stuff which seems completely useless can become exceedingly helpful. Later in school you might come across imaginary numbers - yes, seriously, they exist. They seem really stupid. After all, what's the point in numbers that aren't real? But it turns out that actually they're excellent for solving problems in electrics, and simplify a lot of maths involved in some kinds of graphs. All I'm saying is persevere, it'll be worth it!
@Csisguy you should be able to see all the results here. I had the third fastest time, but I crashed out in the fourth round :( it was good fun, though
@dubstep no, if you've installed Notepad++ then you don't need to install anything else. You shouldn't have ended up on a website if you followed the instructions I gave you, what's the address of it?
@dubstep is it AppData that you can't find? Because if so, you need to make hidden items visible. If you're on Windows 10, there's an option under the View tab at the top of File Explorer
@dubstep go to the folder I mentioned earlier (C:\Users[you]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns) in File Explorer, right click the name of the plane you would like to edit, and then click "Edit with Notepad++"
@Csisguy ahh okay, fair enough. They've got something like 150 entries, so I imagine it will take a while! I believe the devs are planning on uploading it to YouTube afterwards, though, so you can watch it whenever you get a better connection. I'll let you know the outcome too.
@Csisguy aww, thanks. I do my best to be a positive influence around here, and I enjoy the problem-solving that comes with helping fix planes. I guess that sorta makes up for how few planes I actually finish building myself hahaha. Will you be watching the livestreamed tournament tomorrow?
@Csisguy it's alright, there's no point in forcing yourself to do it! I've not built that many planes lately, although I'm very proud of my Triebflugel. I'll talk to Geebers and see if s/he wants to do anything. If nothing comes of it, I'll add the KAI to my list of ideas
@Csisguy oh, they're the Korean ones, right? They are pretty cool. I would like to do them, but I'm not sure if I have time. Most of my SimplePlanes time is being taken up by a map mod at the moment! However, if you would like to work together on it, we could do that?
@dubstep no websites needed. You only need a text editor. Notepad or Wordpad will work fine, but if you want to download a better one, Notepad++ is perfect. And don't worry, I'm used to helping new people on here. As long as you try your best, I'll try to help
@dubstep put a minigun on your plane, save it, open the xml, ctrl+F for "Gun-2", and then start messing with the numbers for that part. Save the xml, go back to SP, and reload your plane. You can keep SP open the whole time, it's fine.
@Aviation if you pick one off that list, lemme know which it is so I can score it off haha
Here are the jets from my current list of ideas that I'd like to do but probably won't get around to:
BAe P.125
BAe Replica
Barnes Wallis Swallow
Boeing X-36
HESA F-313
Lockheed CL-1201
Messerschmitt P.1106
Myasishchev M-17 Stratosfera
Rockwell XFV-12A
Rolls-Royce cranked delta VTOL concept
Saab 35 Draken MOD Level 4 (sorry, not many images of this exist)
Sukhoi SH Kval
@HellFireKoder is definitely an expert on such matters
@JetstreamAeroEngineering @DestinyAviation @Noman0rumeral @Delphinus @AeroEngineering @dsr1aviation @JacobHardy64 @MediocrePlanes @Hadesrocks @MrMecha @ChunderDownUndeR @Rohan @grizzlitn @CarlosDanger13 @Cedy117 @aseder @SteadfastContracting @FlOu @TheLatentImage woohoo, botes! @jsaret just confirmed, yes it is
@AndrewGarrison alright, that's quite fine by me. Thanks
Questions regarding the no xml edits rule:
are we allowed to use it to reposition parts, or is it banned altogether?
if it is banned altogether, are we permitted to move parts with the nudge function instead?

@salvador3031 all the semi finalists were pretty heavily modded too, just not quite to the same extent as these ones
@BRuthless I didn't get one until your comment, certainly
@drdoom222 first off, please calm down with the exclamation marks and ones. That's just irritating. Second, attach any normal missile to a detacher and give the detacher an action group, that will do what you're asking for.
Incredible piloting, it's cool to see the real potential of these planes too

@Csisguy it was the Scintilla, which everyone watching the stream promptly renamed the Chinchilla hahaha
@0973317 @Toscio56 @Average3323 thanks guys, it's kind of you all to leave your comments
Land vehicles: a monowheel or diwheel.
Air vehicles: a cyclogyro.
@Rohan just whenever they're ready, and then a group photo afterwards. Nick released his yesterday

@MediocrePlanes found you! Sent an add request
@MediocrePlanes what's yours?
The Chinchilla Killa. Nice build dude
For the sake of not leaving it on my most recent upload: yes, I do have steam, it's CartoonPiranha. I don't play much other than SP and Civ V though
@Flightsonic oh yeah, definitely, it's daft as hell. It just makes me laugh that the ridiculous "correction" is also wrong

@Flightsonic my favourite thing about that is that the teacher actually said to take two from five, not three
@dubstep everyone has to start somewhere dude. Even guys like Delphinus and SpiritusRaptor were bad at one point!
Links to Nickasaurus' builds for this project:
Vought V-1100
Northrop YF-17, which eventually became the F/A-18 Hornet
@dubstep yeah man, no worries
C:\Users[you]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns
@dubstep right, did you manage to get to that folder that I told you to go to? And would it be easier if I just gave you a really powerful minigun?
@dubstep well... yeah? Which file are you trying to edit?
@dubstep yeah, just open the same file in Notepad
@Csisguy you should be able to see all the results here. I had the third fastest time, but I crashed out in the fourth round :( it was good fun, though
@BeryllCorp congratulations on the win!
@RyneKuczy thanks man, although I think you deserve some credit for probably the fastest replica in the tournament
@Exumer it looks like a shortened hybrid of the Su-27 and Su-47, which are two of my favourites haha. Also you've accidentally posted this three times

@dubstep have you loaded up the xml of one of your planes?
@Csisguy aww, thanks. I do my best to be a positive influence around here, and I enjoy the problem-solving that comes with helping fix planes. I guess that sorta makes up for how few planes I actually finish building myself hahaha. Will you be watching the livestreamed tournament tomorrow?
@dubstep no worries, and good luck
Here

@dubstep Notepad comes with Windows, but if you want Notepad++ (the one I use), you can get it here.

@HellFireKoder greatest school ever. realluochen9999 confirmed as Dragonborn.
