@DelphFoxFan the CoL on your missile is way too far forward. Missiles need to be very stable to work properly, because detaching them is a very unsteady process.
@TheStapler the intake stopped me from doing this one for a long time too, the eventual solution came when I realised that i could make the big scoop on the front a false one. The central section of it is made from structural panels instead of fuselages, and those don't block the air to the real intake behind it. Also sorry it took nearly a fortnight to respond, I must have missed the notification.
@WhippedCreamKing I can't build stuff until tomorrow night, so if you don't want to wait that long, take a look at the guide a wrote in the comments of this post. If you have trouble with it, I'll get it sorted for you tomorrow.
@Supercraft888 I remember someone didn't believe me about how fragile balsa wood was until I bit the front off of one of the failed models we had made from it
• Your rudder works the same way as your elevators. If your horizontal wings were just one tiny surface with a CoL waaaay at the back of the plane, your elevators wouldn't do much either. Rudders aren't really very effective for the speeds planes usually fly at anyway.
• I don't know, sorry. It might be possible to activate it with a Bluetooth keyboard or something, but I haven't tested this.
• Whether your CoT is at the front or the back shouldn't really matter, what effects are you seeing?
@jsaret @MediocrePlanes I wrote an introduction to xml editing in the comments of a post and I just kinda spam it everywhere people want to know about xml editing now. Hopefully it's useful to you
This is normally down to one of two things: your pitch control surfaces are too big, or you xml edited some wings and something got inverted when it shouldn't have been. There is one other potential culprit, which is the wing landing gear. For some reason, when it's retracted, it can cause a persistent roll to the left
@jsaret to expand on your post, alt account abuse could maybe be reduced by only giving points per unique account that downloads the plane. That way, people would have to register a new account every time to hike their score up
@Seeras 1:22 if I'm lucky, but it doesn't always get that. It never crashes, though. I could make something faster, but this design was just too much fun to get rid of!
@DelphFoxFan that's not a bad idea, although it would probably have to stop counting after a certain point. The famous Droplet has nearly 70,000 downloads
This seemed interesting, so I go the downloads and votes for my most popular designs and a random bunch of less popular ones as well.

I dunno if there's any kind of observable pattern there, other than that it gets steadily worse as you get more popular. My pre-gold ones average at 12.625 downloads per vote, my post-gold ones average 56.333
Just a thought regarding those engine glows, actually - does this thing have eight BFE120s for power? I'm fairly sure it's the only one that does that blue flame
@DelphFoxFan I think it might actually be the CF-XX that Wildblue was talking about. It's a concept for X-plane (a flight sim, if you don't know it) that some guys designed. It's supposed to be a 6th generation version of the Avro Arrow project. Apparently they want to do it in real life now
@MrSilverWolf it is indeed! The engine nacelles just happen to be my favourite little bit haha. I'm afraid I don't know very much at all about finding miniatures of planes
@CarlosDanger13 you can already do that. Take a screenshot however you would normally do it on your device, upload it to somewhere like imgur, and then use the same format as usual
@AviownCorp nothing clever. All I did was change the wing profiles in the stabilisers - the inside sections are symmetric now, and the outside sections are semi-symmetric. It just gives the back of the plane a little bit more lift to balance it out.
@Liquidfox what's that?
@DelphFoxFan the CoL on your missile is way too far forward. Missiles need to be very stable to work properly, because detaching them is a very unsteady process.
Go check it out! If it still doesn't inspire you, try doing a Fairchild FX

@Liquidfox thank you!

Also thank you for your vote and comment!
@dilisvarskvlavi I think I should make an actual skua instead hahaha
Can I just submit my Hawk? That's under 100 parts haha
@Supercraft888 I remember someone didn't believe me about how fragile balsa wood was until I bit the front off of one of the failed models we had made from it

@GINGER01 I'll forget and/or lose it if you send it just now haha. Post a link on one of my planes on Sunday and I'll get on it
Also forgot the exclamation mark at the beginning. Copy this is to your post instead:
@GINGER01 I can't build things this weekend, but if you don't mind waiting a couple of days, I can do it
@T0PD0GDEFENSIVECO @TheMasterSoldier making mods doesn't earn points yet

@ChunderDownUndeR I'll make a more comprehensive list of stuff that I don't plan on doing myself and get back to you when I can
@jsaret no, I don't mean requiring an account to download, just that downloads by by people without accounts shouldn't provide points for the builder
@Seeras depends on how you set it up. It doesn't use the VTOL slider, though
@jsaret to expand on your post, alt account abuse could maybe be reduced by only giving points per unique account that downloads the plane. That way, people would have to register a new account every time to hike their score up
@Seeras manual, actually ;)
@Seeras here
@Seeras Sure, but I'm gonna change the values of the props to protect my secrets hahaha
@Seeras it did not, I'm just trusting Andrew's comment that it will in the tournament... if not, well I guess I'll lose hahaha
@Seeras here's a sneaky preview of mine
Will you need to completely rebuild yours or can you just make some edits?
@Seeras 1:22 if I'm lucky, but it doesn't always get that. It never crashes, though. I could make something faster, but this design was just too much fun to get rid of!
@Seeras ohh, I see. Mine was originally 22.5m, I had to shorten it to make a legal hahaha
@Seeras too long as in it's over 20m? I'm excited to see this now, I thought I would be the only one with a big design haha
@DelphFoxFan that's not a bad idea, although it would probably have to stop counting after a certain point. The famous Droplet has nearly 70,000 downloads
@Seeras is there no way you can separate the props more? It would be a shame to miss you in the tournament
This seemed interesting, so I go the downloads and votes for my most popular designs and a random bunch of less popular ones as well.

@SUPERSAMROCK whilst it is terrible, it's not something you're doing wrong, it's a problem with the entire community
@AgDynamics such was the fate of the Chinchilla :(
@AndrewGarrison I've given my rather large design about as much clearance as I could get within the size limits. Thanks for the heads up.
Also, how will collisions between the two entries be handled? Testing seems to suggest it'll happen a lot
Just a thought regarding those engine glows, actually - does this thing have eight BFE120s for power? I'm fairly sure it's the only one that does that blue flame
@dubstep I don't know what else to tell you dude :/ are you sure it wouldn't be easier for me to just make you a gun to your specs?
@DelphFoxFan I think it might actually be the CF-XX that Wildblue was talking about. It's a concept for X-plane (a flight sim, if you don't know it) that some guys designed. It's supposed to be a 6th generation version of the Avro Arrow project. Apparently they want to do it in real life now

@AviownCorp hehe
Comet, definitely. Those engines are gorgeous.
ENHANCE!
@AviownCorp I have a supercharged minigun that would be perfect for the job hahaha
@AviownCorp well I have to admit, it is pretty fun every so often...
@CarlosDanger13 I'm going to move this to a separate post so we don't clog up Aviown's one. I'll tag you
@CarlosDanger13 you can already do that. Take a screenshot however you would normally do it on your device, upload it to somewhere like imgur, and then use the same format as usual
@AviownCorp I don't use weapons very much, I just like flying and building haha
@AviownCorp nothing clever. All I did was change the wing profiles in the stabilisers - the inside sections are symmetric now, and the outside sections are semi-symmetric. It just gives the back of the plane a little bit more lift to balance it out.
@AviownCorp two old British jetfighters:
English Electric Lightning
and de Havilland Sea Vixen
For anyone that sees this and wants a taster of Aviown's planes, here are my favourites of the ones I tried:
Shikari
Cranky
Black Mamba
Sleek
Cross between the Lightning and the Sea Vixen?
Heh, it's fun to fly this one really slowly, it's like a blimp or a manta ray
