@AJosh92FS don't worry, you're not the only one to have that issue haha. In this case it was deliberate to reflect the unstable nature of the Cariburn in the games, but if you want to make it easier to fly, stick a little bit of dead weight in the nose.
@BRuthless looking great! I agree with the plan to round the corners of the intakes off a bit, it would be nice if they blended in to the body more neatly
@Tully2001 thievery! Heh, cool design dude. It's kinda like an older A-10. I'd recommend bring the CoM back a little and reducing the pitch surfaces a bit, but otherwise you've done a good job here
@Kimo I can't take any credit for the outstanding interior, that was all AeroEngineering and ronyseptian. I just helped get it to fly a little more nicely
@XVIindustries there's a slight issue with that solution in inactive users. It would make it completely impossible to upload, say, a Hypnotoad successor. Maybe a 48 hour grace period for the original creator to prevent it going public would suffice.
Honestly though I cannot agree with the position that the successor system is the problem. Even if someone fails to give any credit whatsoever, and changes literally nothing, there's still a link to the original design, and everyone can see who actually did the work. If the successor system is made more limiting, we would see an increase in non-successor copies, which are far more akin to stealing in my book.
Using the whole "generations" thing as if it's some kind of hard rule is nonsense anyway. Different planes will be good at different things. The Eurofighter Typhoon is referred to as another "4+" generation aircraft, because it's not stealthy in the slightest, and is generally much simpler than the Raptor. Does this make it a lesser plane? No, it's a different plane. The Raptor is built for BVR combat and stealth, the Typhoon for WVR combat and agility. Each aircraft beats the other in their preferred roles.
I think we can all agree that the T-50 is looking to be an impressive bit of technology, but that shouldn't have to be seen as it being better or worse than the Raptor, Typhoon, Rafale, Gripen, J-20 etc. I just hope we never need to actually find out for real.
Nobody need worry about checking my planes out, I'm sure I'll get quite enough successor points from this anyway. It's cool that it has been almost a sort of collective build between so many people, and I'm delighted to see it turn out so well
@OtterOfToast it's the same for any CAM shop, so if the Jundroo team got that 3D printed, then they have a way to export to a suitable file type (likely .stl). However, Jundroo have the significant advantages of a) having access to their meshes, and b) understanding how their game works haha
@Godsgift2halo I just did some for another user, they functioned, but not very well. Shaved maybe 10mph off of a 130mph stall speed. The game doesn't consider them to be part of the wing, so they need to be very close to the CoM to work.
@OtterOfToast actually the person I was trying 123D Catch with was a mod haha. The devs are actually working on this exact feature, you can see an example in the comments of this thread
While these would all be nice features to have, two of them are actually already available. You can make dedicated fuel tanks with fuselage section attached to pylons. They'll still provide your engines with fuel, but can be dropped with an action group when they're empty. For you want non-vectoring nozzles for the VTOL engine, give the regular nozzles an action group, so they'll be disabled when that group is off.
Like a new map? There aren't many available just now, but the ones I can think of off the top of my head are UnstableOrbit's Soggy Isles and FullFruntall's Krazy Wurld. However, there are none available for Android that I know of.
@Flightsonic not easily. The files for the meshes are pretty well hidden away, and even if you got them out, you would have to get some sort of script to position them properly based on the xml. There's no button for "export to .stl" or anything like that
@CarlosDanger13 the important difference here is that Ducks isn't promoting his own work. He is supporting another user, not advertising his own content in the hope of attention. He also doesn't tag nearly so many people, nor does he do it nearly so often. It's used for exceptional situations.
It's funny you should ask, TheLatentImage and I are experimenting with 123D Catch just now to see if it works. It's free, so give it a shot and see if it can help
@CarlosDanger13 I can't check them out just now, because I'm trying to get a collaborative project done on time. I'll have a look afterwards. This is what I was meaning, though - tagging users that don't follow you in your builds is pretty unfair. If everyone was to do the same, any gold users would get literally thousands of notifications every day

@Hadesrocks I don't think I've ever actually mentioned my gender on here, so I appreciate the inclusiveness.
Also imma carpet bomb the hell out of this aberrance
@Stampede ohh okay. It was your Zero that I knew before. Also your V-269 looks awesome, so I'm gonna be trying that later
You seem to have a knack for jetfighters, so I say try the Vought V-507 Vagabond. It was a rival proposal to the F-14
@Aerobako courtesy of RocketLL:
@Stampede I'm confused, what about planes?
@BRuthless sorry, that's what I meant, I worded it badly.
@BRuthless looking great! I agree with the plan to round the corners of the intakes off a bit, it would be nice if they blended in to the body more neatly
@Wakescar oh my, no pressure then hahaha. Thanks for the vote though!
@Tully2001 thievery! Heh, cool design dude. It's kinda like an older A-10. I'd recommend bring the CoM back a little and reducing the pitch surfaces a bit, but otherwise you've done a good job here
This is absolutely awesome, nice one!
@XVIindustries but that's exactly the same as the current system, only the original gets more free points
@ShatterFox give it a rest
@Kimo I can't take any credit for the outstanding interior, that was all AeroEngineering and ronyseptian. I just helped get it to fly a little more nicely
@Pauciloquent thank you
@Gein44 cool, nice one
@Gein44 honestly I have no idea. What are the folders that you do have in AppData? And is \Jundroo in any of those?
@Bando89 Well I have no idea why it worked, but I'm glad it did hahahaha

I had a guide written up that has gotten all ruined by the comment order being changed... I'll fix it and link you
It's a bug, but mirroring from the opposite side from usual often fixes it

@dsr1aviation the path is:
Note that AppData is a hidden folder normally, so look those up if you can't find it
@DestinyAviation whenever Rohan finishes it... the only one left to do is the Boeing entry
@OtterOfToast I don't even know what I would get made, though - almost all my favourite planes that I've built are replicas haha
@OtterOfToast it's the same for any CAM shop, so if the Jundroo team got that 3D printed, then they have a way to export to a suitable file type (likely .stl). However, Jundroo have the significant advantages of a) having access to their meshes, and b) understanding how their game works haha
@DeezDucks psst that's an alliteration mate, not a rhyme
Duck is absolutely delicious, though. Cooked rare with a peppered coating and seared outside is just heavenly
What's your favourite duck? And your favourite plane named after a duck?
@LiquidFox how on earth did you wind up finding this old thing? Haha, thanks for the vote though!
@Godsgift2halo I just did some for another user, they functioned, but not very well. Shaved maybe 10mph off of a 130mph stall speed. The game doesn't consider them to be part of the wing, so they need to be very close to the CoM to work.

@SalemASaberhagen I'm working on one myself that I'll hopefully make available for Android, but it has a lot of work left to do
@NovaTopaz yeah, I just wanted to give a non-xml solution. Same reason I didn't suggest structural wings on rotators to act as flaps haha
@amazingperson124 that's true, I did actually forget that
@AviownCorp I did, it worked remarkably well. The large v-stabs do a great job
Great balance of control and agility. I like the engine design, too

@Allstar there are first-world countries that aren't the USA. That said, Vinneplanes is definitely American, judging by his accent
@Flightsonic not easily. The files for the meshes are pretty well hidden away, and even if you got them out, you would have to get some sort of script to position them properly based on the xml. There's no button for "export to .stl" or anything like that
@dsr1aviation for this sort of stuff, it sounds like xml editor the way to go. Far less trouble hahaha
@CarlosDanger13 right, so when you said "no one sees it", what was that about? It took me 7 months to get gold.
@CarlosDanger13
He didn't start at platinum

@OtterOfToast as a warning: we can't get it working well
@MediocrePlanes I'll come online
It's funny you should ask, TheLatentImage and I are experimenting with 123D Catch just now to see if it works. It's free, so give it a shot and see if it can help
SINCE YOU DODGED THE QUESTION LAST TIME
...would you rather fight a hundred duck-sized horses, or one horse-sized duck?
