    @Earthbenderrwefa it's weird, I've used VTOL for exactly this with some success before. Unfortunately there's not really anywhere good to put RCNs on that design, so I'll have to work around it. I've mounted the wings on rotators now

    You should be able to use all of those, the air-to-ground missiles are usually the easiest. Are you remembering to change to air-to-ground targeting mode?

    I know it's not quite the same, but bombs do work if clipped inside fuselage sections. In the mean time we'll have to stick to structural panels for our weapon bay needs.

    • Eagle Pass is a glider race, the description specifically mentions that no engines are allowed. It is perfectly winnable, you just need the right sort of plane for it. Long, thin wings and minimal weight are good.

    • Dogfighting: it's not perfect, but try different start locations and you'll get different results. The WWII one is also better for this.

    • SAM Evasion: you need a very fast and agile plane, but again it's quite doable. A couple of J50s and a good turn rate should get your through it alright. Occasionally the start position screws you over, but it is only occasional.

    • Rockets: yeah I suck with those too. I think it would be better with practice but they're definitely the toughest weapon to use by a long shot, barring huge targets like the bridges.

    • Bombs: fly low, and also get some practice. You'll get it. It's meant to be a challenge, after all.

    • Bomber escort mission: this one can be done, you just need to equip your plane with the longer-ranged fire-and-forget missiles. The enemies use the semi-guided ones, so if you can take them out, anything they fire will miss. These ones also mean you don't have to watch them, so you can go get the second enemy. Couple a four mile range advantage with however fast you can move to intercept them and you should be good.

    • Race tracks: again, agility is the key. I've done Daredevil at full thrust for the whole track in a supersonic jet, I just had to make it turn really fast. That means that the challenge stays as you get better, because you can try to do it in progressively faster planes.

    I'm not trying to say you can't criticise the game, but a lot of this is pretty unfounded.

    Try drawing your design out before you start. It's okay if you're terrible at drawing, it's just to help you keep a clear idea of what you want, and it also lets you work out the details before you start

    If people upvote your planes and forum posts, you get some points - I think it's 15 per plane vote and 5 per forum vote. Don't worry if they don't show up immediately, they can take a while sometimes

    @DogeZ ronyseptian is right, you should absolutely try fuselage blocks out. Once you learn how to use them, they are enormously better. I just don't use the regular blocks any more because the fuselage ones are so much better.

    That said, if you do want to keep using the old blocks, you can still use a fuselage block for this purpose. Just make it 1x1x1 and it will just be like a block, but with the ability to carry fuel and dead weight

    Alright I tried it put, it has a few problems. Genuinely just trying to help here, not be horrible or anything:

    • Roll surfaces. Generally it's not a great idea to put roll surfaces on the vertical stabiliser because it creates a very off-centre roll force. They also go the wrong way, acting in the opposite direction from the wing roll surfaces. Usually it's best to just have yaw surfaces on the vertical stabiliser.

    • Roll stability. The CoL is beneath the CoM, and you have wings with anhedrals (downwards dihedra). Both of these things can work just fine, but on your plane they're responsible for the roll instability.

    • Centre of Thrust. It would pitch down a lot less if the CoT wasn't so far above the CoM.

    • Length. The plane is very short, which makes it difficult to exert any pitch authority. Don't be afraid to build a little longer!

    But yeah, like I said, I just wanted to give you some pointers, I hope it was helpful

    This plane of mine is all structural wings with control surfaces enabled, I think. Grab a wing (one with a control surface) off of that and save it as a subassembly

    Overspeeding is when the engine can't keep up with the airflow, so it usually happens in a steep dive, or if you attach a jet engine as well as props. Lowering your thrust is actually bad, because it slows the engine as well as the plane, so the problem stays. Your best bet is to pull up, if possible. If you've got manual propellor pitch control, you could try adjusting that too, but I don't usually use it so I can't speak to that much

    I feel like it should invalidate race times, it let's you swap flying skill for patience. I would know, I have far more of the latter and a bunch of race times that should have ended in crashes

    @Csisguy I've spoken against advertising planes on here quite a few times, so it would be pretty hypocritical of me to go back on that. However, if you want to collaborate on something, that could maybe work?

    @Csisguy sorry for taking so long to get back to you,I was away for the last couple of days. It flies nicely, it's pretty well balanced and handles responsively. I'd recommend that if you're going to attack the props to action groups, so it in symmetrical pairs so that it doesn't get unbalanced when turning them on or off. Also, you left a couple of extra blocks in there, including one attached to the top of the left vertical stabiliser. Generally though, great work!

    @2416creeper no, but you can get that one easily, and it's quite similar. Go to your AircraftDesigns folder, copy the one that has a name like "_aiWWIIenemy_" or something similar, and remove the underscores

    The XMLs of your planes can be found at C:\Users[you]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns. They're human-readable and can be edited with any text editor. Notepad++ is nice. Once you've changed what you want to change, save the file, and reload the plane in SimplePlanes.

    Note: take backups of anything you edit, because any formatting errors or other mistakes will stop the whole plane from loading.

    Ideas:

    • How Hard Could It Be? The hosts attempt stupid challenge submitted by users on the site. My suggestion is to try and build planes that can take off backwards as well as forwards. Record your failures.

    • Mates in Crates: our very own Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. Decide on a slow, clumsy, heavy plane, and get one user each week to record a time around a certain track with it. Maybe partner up with @Lucasmah for the interviews?

    • Races: build planes according to some set of rules and record times around the same track. Play all of the videos side-by-side so we can see a race of sorts.

    • The Why? Awards: find the most ridiculous planes you can and test them out.
