Don't worry if you can't do great big complex builds, just have fun with the game! If you do want to learn more about building planes, find ones that you don't think you could've made and pull them apart to see how they were done
@TheWatchingEye using a dihedral can also do the job, just make sure that the rearmost wings curve up or down. It's sorta cheating, but it looks good on some planes
@UnstableOrbit that sounds pretty fun, solving the troubles of making such a ridiculous weapon effective is the kind of challenge that makes these things interesting. And if it does blow my own ship up, at least it'll be spectacular in the process hahaha.
As an aside, I assume you're using this with that mod that changes the camera behaviour in the builder to help with such large designs?
@Spider eh it's a replica first and foremost, and the performance is fairly close to that of a real MiG-15. I felt that the appearance was more important. You're welcome to change it and upload your own version if you like.
@hadesrocksz I should do an update of this now that I have the PC version, I love the Nightwing. Also, if you're a 40k fan, realluochen9999 made an absolutely incredible Avenger a while back
@PuhBuhGuh thanks for typing that out, length is okay when the content is good.
@akl101 I'd say the best way to do that is to work together on something. That way you're still putting something new in to the community, while bringing some attention to the less popular user, and hopefully also learning something from each other. Everyone wins.
You don't need to delete the design, but if you do want to, there should be a "delete" option when you click the little arrow under the main images on your plane's page. The only way to update a plane is to just upload a new version as a new plane, but if they're made from the same cockpit, they should show up as successors/predecessors on each others' page
@Earthbenderrwefa @Biggie88smalls just in case you were curious, I managed to fix it - it turns out that wings actually only work if the point the right way, despite them not having an aerofoil modelled. As a result it had basically no lift, because the main wing sections had been rotated 90 degrees around the yaw axis. I just had to rebuild it without doing that, which was a pain, but it works now.
@Nilsmuc as in Windows, iOS, Android etc. Also, to make sure a person gets a notification when you reply, make sure to add their name with an @ symbol to your comment - the "reply" button also does this.
Well I'm not a dev, but I can tell you, because it's the same reason that they're difficult to build in real life - you have no yaw stability. The vertical stabiliser on a plane normally stops the plane from yawing uncontrollably, and a flying wing doesn't have one. On planes like the B-2, this is solved by using decelerons, which are like two ailerons which open on the top and bottom of the same wing to provide yaw authority. Another way to describe a deceleron is that it's an airbrake off to one side of the plane. Now in a modern flying wing, the computer system controls the decelerons to maintain yaw stability. In SimplePlanes, we don't have decelerons or fly-by-wire, so we have to work around it. The two easiest options are hiding vertical stabilisers (see my Taranis) or using a large dihedral on the wing (my Martlet). Sorry for rambling on so much, I hope this helps.
Assuming you still want it to act as a drive for your plane, rather than a brake, literally just turning the prop around and attaching it to your plane will make it a pusher automatically
@MrBackstabby seems awfully risky to make an alliance with someone called "Mr Backstabby" hahaha. More seriously, I'm not gonna pick an ally until I can get my plane working properly, because I don't want to let someone down if it turns out that I can't finish it on time
Thanks for featuring my guitar, and sorry about that loose fret that blew the whole thing up, I'll have to upload a fixed version some time. Nice work!
@UnstableOrbit 1st Amendment rights are kinda irrelevant because it's not just US citizens on this website. As with more or less all websites, we rely on the moderators to be benevolent and the admins (or devs, in this case) to reserve the power to remove mods if needed. I would guess the "line" will most likely be a fairly subjective thing guided by past experience
@CDUflappy your J-2D looks like it would suit this pretty well if you took it down to just two guns. I can't test it on mobile, but it definitely looks the part
Don't worry if you can't do great big complex builds, just have fun with the game! If you do want to learn more about building planes, find ones that you don't think you could've made and pull them apart to see how they were done
@CanofBeans alright then. We seem to have build sorta similar-looking entries, after all! Can I read some more about your nation anywhere?
@Kimo that sounds like plenty of time. I shall do my best
Why not both? A helicarrier that can land in water
Well I think it's pretty obvious what I have to make haha. What's the deadline?
@TheWatchingEye using a dihedral can also do the job, just make sure that the rearmost wings curve up or down. It's sorta cheating, but it looks good on some planes
@Nightraider I shall check it out
Depends on my mood, but a lot of folk rock recently. I've not heard tropical house before, want to link something?
@DUNHAMAEROTECH there would still need to be an IPhone port, which would probably be one of the most troublesome ones to do
@UnstableOrbit that sounds pretty fun, solving the troubles of making such a ridiculous weapon effective is the kind of challenge that makes these things interesting. And if it does blow my own ship up, at least it'll be spectacular in the process hahaha.

@UnstableOrbit need? Who said anything about needing absurdly oversized guns? We want them
@hadesrocksz I should do an update of this now that I have the PC version, I love the Nightwing. Also, if you're a 40k fan, realluochen9999 made an absolutely incredible Avenger a while back
@realluochen9999 @MrPines @ElijtheGeat @DogeZ cheers guys
I use a debit card for Steam in the UK, I imagine it works fine elsewhere too
Use the "Share" button at the top of the left hand menu in the builder
@PuhBuhGuh thanks for typing that out, length is okay when the content is good.

@Jetliner101 it's an easy thing to do that lets a lot more people have fun with what I build. Plus I want to use it on my phone hahaha
@hadesrocksz thanks for all the votes! I was not expecting to come back to quite so many notifications hahaha
@hadesrocksz no worries
It's a little trickier without xml editing, but it can be done.
Make your fuselage without the nosecone or the prop
Drag in a new fuselage section, but don't attach it to anything. Make it 0.5x0.5x0.5 with the maximum rise and run.
Attach this tiny, squint fuselage piece to the front of the main fuselage.
Attach either the prop or the nosecone to the other end of the tiny squint piece.
Attach the other one out of the prop or nosecone to the main fuselage - it should still work despite the tiny piece being there.
Set the run and rise of the tiny piece back to zero. Adjust the length as needed.
@MrVaultech that's actually a good shout
@EpicPhysicsFlyer27 @grizzlitn @goboygo1 thanks everyone, it's nice to know the effort is appreciated!
@TheLatentImage thanks man, it was definitely worth the effort to make it look like what I had designed
@Kimo and @Arcues thank you both!

@DogeZ and everyone else, Dal Riata has a ship! It can be found here, along with a link to the faction's background

+2@Nilsmuc for some reason my comments are failing to submit when I try to tell you where they're located, this is weird... I'll try to sort it
+1Test comment

Which platform are you on?
+1@DeezDucks you may have the wrong post, unless it has been edited.
@Panz the fastest I've been able to keep anything stable is about 25,000mph, the physics get a bit funny above that

@AgDynamics GOOD I DO HATE THEM BECAUSE I'M REALLY BAD AT AIMING
Assuming you still want it to act as a drive for your plane, rather than a brake, literally just turning the prop around and attaching it to your plane will make it a pusher automatically
@TommyTippy098 besides a whole raft of new challenges, and AI, it includes:
Two sizes of dumb bomb
Two types of air-to-air missile
One type of air-to-ground missile
Dumb rockets
Two types of gun
At this point we don't know how much of it will make it to other platforms, but the devs are definitely working on it
@MrBackstabby seems awfully risky to make an alliance with someone called "Mr Backstabby" hahaha. More seriously, I'm not gonna pick an ally until I can get my plane working properly, because I don't want to let someone down if it turns out that I can't finish it on time
If you're on PC the nudge controls work for this too

Ooh I'm gonna try this on Eagle Pass
@Jasperjl yeah, that's it. "Tweaking" doesn't just mean repainting it, though, so if you see someone doing that, feel free to report it
@VikDesigns @CDUflappy thanks to you both!
@CDUflappy no worries, it looks like a solid design. I'll test it out when I can.
@vineyards heh, me too!
Use the "Share" button in the left-hand menu

CoT, rather than CoL. The CoL still needs to be behind the CoM
