@Coen1888 a lot of planes - especially smaller and simpler ones - get skipped over. It's unfortunate, but it happens. I worked really hard on this one and it got ignored completely for a month (link removed because I really, genuinely wasn't trying to advertise my old plane. Thank you to those who upvoted, though). It's okay, though - if you can build planes for yourself, you can just have fun and not worry about votes. I'll test your plane out and see if I can help
@Eli3777 yeah, I was a little unhappy about that, but it was just a quick build for the livestream. I'm gonna try to get a more refined version ready for next week
I started making the weirder insignias, but there's an issue with the Steam version that stopped me from getting some of the details down. I'm gonna look at them again after the next update
@Oicraftian sweet, I've managed to get some success using vectored thrust for that, but never purely aerodynamic control. Let me know how it turns out!
One thing I would add to this: don't take screenshots from the direct front, side, or top angles. We can see those anyway on your plane's page, and almost nothing on SP looks good or interesting from those angles
@LeoBrasi your options for better manoeuvering are to bring the CoL and CoM closer together, reduce the wing loading, and make sure that yousurfaces are as big as they can be without making your plane twitch under heavy turning
You'll need to add a less than symbol at the very start, and a greater than at the very end. SimplePlanes.com doesn't let you post comments with those included, sorry
@Dstroyer101 if the wheels you're using are landing gears, a small prop or jet engine is probably your best bet. You can even xml edit them to limit the max thrust, if you want. If you're using large wheels made from fuselage sections or something, VTOL nozzles on the wheels will probably work
@Oicraftian I'll be honest, I can't help you there. A good number of my planes never even get rudders. They're not a big part of controlling a plane most of the time, anyway
@crashedfrog I'm not the kind person to get upset over people copying my stuff or anything, but try not to do it. If you do want to make your own version, see what you can improve! Maybe you can get it handling better or something
I haven't tested this, but it should be possible to make a fully-submersible submarine if you XML edit the cockpit and a VTOL engine to be waaaaay up high, out of sight.
@Oicraftian I'm not sure I understand what you mean - they're all wings, structural wings still act as wings in every sense. Structural panels don't, but you didn't use those (on the Zero, at least). I tested it without the extra wing sections just to see, including moving the CoM to stay roughly where it was in relation to the now-different CoL. I got the drop in handling ability that was expected. Can you upload one of these more agile versions without the extra wing sections so I can see?
@DeezDucks I'm sorry for not responding, I was offline for the last week or so. Your plane is absolutely gorgeous so I figured that late is better than never and made you this
@skyhigh222 I've heard of him, but I don't really watch any YouTubers. Draegast is welcome to use anything I've made (I think he actually already has used something of mine), but I don't think that particular one would make for a very interesting video - after all, it doesn't do anything well except go in a straight line really fast, at a specific altitude
They're not for rotating, they're for moving parts along each axis by a very small amount. They are extremely useful, though, it would be nice to have them on mobile
That is actually what happens, you can still win a fight with a couple of parts shot off. I won the WWII challenge with an engine missing a couple of days ago. The issue is that generally you don't get hit by just one bullet
@Coen1888 hmm, if you like supercars then maybe a James Bond Aston Martin with the rockets in the front grille
@Sirstupid I wasn't meaning for people to upvote that, but thank you very much anyway haha
@Coen1888 as for cars, Morgans are awesome

@Coen1888 well that's alright, we can help you! Once you know the basics you'll find it a lot easier
@Coen1888 what stops you from building planes?
@Eli3777 yeah, I was a little unhappy about that, but it was just a quick build for the livestream. I'm gonna try to get a more refined version ready for next week

@Samwise shouldn't do... but maybe it has. Are you able to get it back up to speed?
@Samwise did you change anything on it? Genuinely I didn't touch the prop
What are you trying to do with them?
@Oicraftian sweet, I've managed to get some success using vectored thrust for that, but never purely aerodynamic control. Let me know how it turns out!
@Dstroyer101 did it not work how you wanted? I can take a look if you want
@Samwise sorted. I didn't touch the prop because it actually already goes faster than you asked for anyway
@JMicah4 cheers dude. I'll upvote this instead, since it's unlisted
It might be worth using the T2000 prop instead, it's a bit wider and should line up nicely with the nose
@MADMAN81413 it is, and by the looks of things just a straight up copy. Thanks.
@Jochrivo have you actually changed anything, or is this just my plane?
One thing I would add to this: don't take screenshots from the direct front, side, or top angles. We can see those anyway on your plane's page, and almost nothing on SP looks good or interesting from those angles

Good luck with the exam, and congratulations on getting platinum too!
@Baldovino heh, fair enough then
@JMicah4 cheers, I'll have to go test yours out. I'll make sure that the my next version is a little more AI-friendly
@JMicah4 yeah, there's some kind of issue with the races just now. I can't help that the AI pilot flew terribly hahahaha
@JMicah4 oh don't you worry, if this is to become a regular feature then I'll build something properly fast
@Sirstupid if you don't fancy landing there yourself, you can paste this in to the locations section of your settings.xml.
You'll need to add a less than symbol at the very start, and a greater than at the very end. SimplePlanes.com doesn't let you post comments with those included, sorry
As HellFire said, xml edits are just a tool. It doesn't really matter which tool you use, it's the design that will make it work or not
@Rohan nah, the guns were mostly just an afterthought. It's not actually very good at dogfighting in AI hands because the yaw surfaces are way too big
@Codex1444 the best way to make a circular intake is to use one of the two big turbofan engines - they still count as intakes if the front is exposed
@Dstroyer101 if the wheels you're using are landing gears, a small prop or jet engine is probably your best bet. You can even xml edit them to limit the max thrust, if you want. If you're using large wheels made from fuselage sections or something, VTOL nozzles on the wheels will probably work
@Samwise do you still have it? I can take a look if you want
@Oicraftian I'll be honest, I can't help you there. A good number of my planes never even get rudders. They're not a big part of controlling a plane most of the time, anyway
@Oicraftian hey there's no reason to worry about it mate, the Zero handles excellently. I'll be sure to check those other planes out
Perfect for those of us that can't aim for love nor money! There is a definite satisfaction to just piling endless explosions in to everything
@dan242 thanks for looking out for that dude.
@crashedfrog I'm not the kind person to get upset over people copying my stuff or anything, but try not to do it. If you do want to make your own version, see what you can improve! Maybe you can get it handling better or something
Well, he got his answer...
@AndrewGarrison thanks for the clarification.
@Delphinus thanks to you too!
I put something together. I wanted to stay away from performance-boosting xml edits, so I've kept it simple
@RedHawk I don't mind where it goes, I just need to know a size to work to is all
@RedHawk Alright, I'll give it a shot some time over the weekend, but I can't guarantee anything, I've not done much stuff like this
@RocketLL I dunno, I haven't installed it yet. I haven't seen any mention of one, though, just the usual Everyplay stuff which only records the screen
I'm not in need of a plane, but if you need something to do you could try NovaTopaz' Ace Combat challenge
I haven't tested this, but it should be possible to make a fully-submersible submarine if you XML edit the cockpit and a VTOL engine to be waaaaay up high, out of sight.
@Samwise hey, I've been away so I couldn't respond. Did you ever get the prop you needed?
@dsr1aviation I'm gonna try to get through all the help posts that I missed haha!
@Candyshop780 I wrote a sort of introductory guide to XML editing in the comments of this (two parts). Feel free to ask about it
@Oicraftian I'm not sure I understand what you mean - they're all wings, structural wings still act as wings in every sense. Structural panels don't, but you didn't use those (on the Zero, at least). @dsr1aviation whaddup, sorry, I've been away for a week.
@RedHawk I can try but I'm not all that good at this stuff. How big does it need to be?
@skyhigh222 I've heard of him, but I don't really watch any YouTubers.
