@SteadfastContracting no, don't worry, much easier than that. First thing to do is find your AircraftDesigns folder, where all of your saved builds are kept. It should be C:\Users[you]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns. LocalLow is a hidden folder, so you might need to enable hidden items if you don't see it. Once you've found that, open the .xml file for the plane you want to edit in the text editor of your choice
@FennVectorCWA hang on, I don't understand what you're trying to do. The mod should just add a couple of new parts that create smoke trails. What's happening for you?
Definitely flies more smoothly, and the wings look great under pitching with just the all-moving central section. Still suffers from some of the problems the old one had with having no leverage for pitch, but a cool build overall
@swat132 @dsr1aviation @HakkeAirTech I had an idea! The Caproni Ca.60. It's as huge and ridiculous as they come, but doesn't require fussing about with rotators and things, and definitely has a certain grandeur to it. If you've watched The Wind Rises, you've seen it
@Jetspeed1001 I think you actually did it right with the first attempt, you just picked a bad link. I tried following it and got a 404 error. But, just as another example, let's do your gravatar:
The reason it doesn't turn very well is that your control surface (the whole wing, in this case) is really close to the CoM, so it has no leverage. It might be worth considering canards for another version
@Halfstrike definitely one of the best-looking fighters, in my opinion. Still, technology marches on. Unfortunately the Viggen had to do more than look good
Xml edit the minimum rotation of the rotator to either zero or a negative value. If it's zero, it won't do anything when you VTOL down. If it's negative, it will go the same direction no matter which way you move the slider
Saab J35 MOD Level 4, maybe? It was a proposed upgrade to the Draken that got shelved in favour of the Viggen. It had retractable canards and a wider wingspan, amongst a few other features.
@BaconEggs enabling a mod via .xml isn't something I've ever heard of, what does that involve? And when you say it shows up in the mods folder, do you mean com.Jundroo.SimplePlanes\files\mods, or do you mean the menu you get to by pressing "mods" on the in-game main menu?
@Toxicgirl sorting wing profiles is pretty easy once you get used to it, don't worry. It definitely makes your planes nicer to fly if they're well balanced
I'd like to see something like this too. Alternatively, make the Interceptor missiles IR-guided, so that they only work properly if a jet exhaust is visible to them. This would force you to get behind your opponent to use them, and they could be defeated if the target manages to cool their engines on time
@Happyjr this would also explain why you had trouble with the smoke trails one. LocalLow is a hidden folder, you'll need to make hidden folders visible to access it. This is because it contains quite a lot of stuff that normally you wouldn't want to edit, so make sure you don't touch anything you don't understand
@danishhaziq no worries dude, it's brilliant. I made a buggy out of two of them stuck together just to test, it worked excellently. You should make a car from it!
@Halfstrike ohh, I see haha. I think there was something like that involved in the infinite fuel tank, but I don't really know, it's not something I would normally use
@Moonlight normally, if you download a plane and then upload it with changes, it will do the successor system automatically. Uploading unlisted version does seem to break this, though. It's okay, though, you've done right thing by leaving a link in the description of your version, so there's no need to worry about it
@SteadfastContracting any text editor works. You could use Notepad if you like, but Notepad++ is free and a lot better.

@FennVectorCWA damn, I've been caught!
@SteadfastContracting yeah, sure. Have you done any xml editing before?
@FennVectorCWA hang on, I don't understand what you're trying to do. The mod should just add a couple of new parts that create smoke trails. What's happening for you?
@SteadfastContracting I can do that for you, or show you how, if you like
@Mod get in here mate

@Halfstrike it's difficult, but not impossible. This guy got it pretty close
@SteadfastContracting sure, go for it
@Jetspeed1001 I think you actually did it right with the first attempt, you just picked a bad link. I tried following it and got a 404 error. But, just as another example, let's do your gravatar:

@BaconEggs added to the description. Are you doing everything there?
@Halfstrike why is it impossible?
@Flightsonic in that case yes hahaha. It has been a while since I've touched that, sorry
@BaconEggs since a lot of people are having trouble with this, I'm just going to make a video
@Halfstrike definitely one of the best-looking fighters, in my opinion. Still, technology marches on. Unfortunately the Viggen had to do more than look good

@BaconEggs right, so when you try to enable it, what happens?
@Halfstrike I don't see anything in the mod tools for accessing that, sadly. You can get throttle, but not thrust.
@BaconEggs I need some more details than that. What software are you on? What happens?
@Toxicgirl sorting wing profiles is pretty easy once you get used to it, don't worry. It definitely makes your planes nicer to fly if they're well balanced
Wrong account mate
@Jackie @Kimo @Sergo585 @DarkLithium @TheLatentImage @AeroEngineering @Z810 @Halfstrike @AerostyleAviation @AnarchistAerospaceIndustries @laSoul @hadesrocksz thanks for the votes everyone

If you're on Windows 10, go to the View tab and click the checkbox for Hidden Items
@danishhaziq hmm... well I feel like some kind of open-wheeled racer is best, to show off the mechanism
@TheHardcoreFlyer open the game, go to the "mods" button in the menu, select the mod, then press "enable"
@TheHardcoreFlyer well I dunno how your specific app works, but is there not an option for "move" or "copy"?
@Lucasmah that sucks :( well it'll still be available when you get back

@Medron well if I find myself with some free time, I'll look in to it
@Halfstrike ohh, I see haha. I think there was something like that involved in the infinite fuel tank, but I don't really know, it's not something I would normally use
@Medron ahh, like a smoke bomb sort of thing?
@Halfstrike I don't actually know. What is it/what does it do? Most of my changes were cosmetic
This is awesome, I'm really impressed that it actually flies
@Medron you mean like the bomb leaving a smoke trail as it goes down? Because you can do that

+2@RocketLL I don't know anything about that, sorry. Is OSX modding supported at all just now? It might be worth asking the devs.

+2@dsr1aviation sweet, I'm glad it's working, and thanks for letting us know
@RocketLL I can delete that bit if you want
+2@AeroEngineering what have I done (ಥ_ಥ)

@Stingray @Nickasaurus here it is!
@dsr1aviation it's working at my end, I've just tested it. If I work out what's going on, I'll get back to you
