@SteadfastContracting Used fuselage blocks and doubled the measurements of the original model, which was (at the time) on the same load (hence why it's listed as a successor). Did the same with the wings (it was a bit more time consuming though due to having to count the number of units away from the mounting points). For the prop I used XML modding and doubled the diameter and increased horsepower, etc in order to make it fly at a decent speed. The cockpit frame was done using fuselage blocks and a mod that allows you to rotate parts precisely (forgotten where and who made the mod).

Also, thank you for the upvote!!

I wasn't expecting something with wings so far back to fly as well as this. An as usual, great and unique build! And no problem!!

@jamesPLANESii My friend tried it on his iPad and I think it worked okay. Can't really say for the iPhone though. Thanks for trying to take a look though!! :)

@SAMMERJAMMERIND It's pretty straight forward to be fair. It's a matter of timing and judging the altitude and speed... There's a bit of luck involved. Obviously, if the parachute decides to tilt too early, then you're kind of doomed.

Then there's getting him on the ground (and not the sea), that's a bit trickier. I've done it a few times though, you just have to pitch down after take-off and flare before you hit the ground, then detach. There's still a risk something will fall off Garry, but it's lower then say if you drop from 1,500 feet XD

@ElGatoVolador Well, I use blender. Might be a bit complex though for new users though (It's primarily a modelling/animation software).

I actually ran into trouble on this as some of the transitions didn't work properly because I was using different video file types. So that would be something to keep in mind if you decide to use it.

@ElGatoVolador Windows has a built in game recorder... At least on my laptop it does. If you press the "windows key" and "G" at the same time a gaming menu should pop up.

  • Goliath Drow 9.7 years ago

@SteadfastContracting It is. Like I say it's the successor to the B-36 and competitor to the YB-52 (Prototype of the B-52). Great plane, just a shame it never went into production.

@SteadfastContracting Go for it. It'll be like the YB-60 all over again (the jet variant of the B-36).

  • BOMBER CHALLENGE!!!!!! 9.7 years ago

@titanplanes101 Probably late to the party, but different aerofoil types generate different amounts of lift. The Semi-Symmetric generates more lift than the Symmetric and the Flat Bottomed generates more lift than the Semi-Symmetric.

It's useful if you've got a nose heavy aircraft, as semi-symmetric and flat bottomed aerofoils can counter this by placing them forward of the centre of mass.

  • Goliath Drow 9.7 years ago

@SteadfastContracting Flies well. It's a tiny bit nose heavy, but it's barely worth mentioning. The missile doors are an great feature, I'm not sure how you did them, but they're epic nonetheless! The activation setup is good too. I seriously hope you make more variations of this! XD

  • SB-3-1 (Strato Bomber) 9.7 years ago

@SteadfastContracting I had a prototype of this and modded it into the bomber escort challenge a few months ago (copied the XML contents and put it into the bomber challenges XML) and I flew in the SB-2 (or SB-1 I can't remember) and it dwarfed it, like you say, I felt like I was in a fighter rather than another bomber.

  • Ho-14-B Nait 9.7 years ago

Cheap and cheerful as they say. It's pretty safety proof too, I crashed it into the bridge (by accident) and the bridge was fine... Wish I could say the same for the pilot XD

  • Red Gargoyle 9.7 years ago

A fun piece of kit to fly. And it takes off without a landing gear and it's a flying wing!! Like the engine design too. I'm tempted to do something similar to this!
