@WaterFlavouredSpitfires VR runs on computers.
The reason Maywar isn’t on mobile is because objects like the wind turbines and pyramid are very laggy on low-end devices.
Very relatable.
My grandfather passed away in May; I had just stepped into the ICU when he died. The funeral was pretty sad (and a bit weird, since I was joining a Buddhist funeral as a Catholic).
Hope your grandfather rests in peace.
@Pilotgoose a good thumbnail, combined with a good challenge idea, will attract many participants.
When I had the same amount of points as you did, I posted my Never Built Challenge and it got overwhelming support, despite being my first one.
The trick for making challenges is: Letting people have freedom in building. When making a challenge, try making it as broad as possible, so that people have more choices in building. And the challenge should preferably have options to build either military or civilian planes, although military challenges usually get more attention.
Additionally, a mistake you made is making people build it for your company. Don’t do that; people want to build planes for themselves, so they don’t want to feel like they’re obligated to you.
Word of advice: next time, just post a cockpit block. Doing so forces participants to actually be creative and not copy off your original cake.
Also, I won’t be able to join the challenge, due to a lack of time and motivation; hope you’ll understand.
I mean, many of FLC’s top people got arrested for committing fraud, market manipulation and appropriation of properties.
Also, FLC still has a stake in Bamboo Airways; it’s just that it’s no longer the dominant stakeholder.
An analogy: Making a replica is like building a Lego set using the instructions, while making a fictional plane is like starting from scratch with a pile of spare bricks and your imagination.
@Sm10684 alright, I don’t have the capacity to argue anymore, and I’m starting to see insight in your point.
But one last thing: if you really wanted the SP devs to respond to this, why couldn’t you have just tagged all of them from the start? If Andrew doesn’t respond, even WNP78 is still quite active! And like you said, even a reply from the devs would shut everyone here up!
@Sm10684 I don’t think the devs are the kind of people who post without announcing a new feature, because they are not giving up on their passion, and want to work on it too. The last thing they want is to say that they are giving up, which is basically what delaying means.
@Sm10684 alright; your point is that Jundroo isn’t paying attention to its games. But the question is: can it?
Jundroo is not Microsoft, Rockstar or EA. It is an indie game company, with a team of less than 10 people, all of which have to not only fix thousands of bugs and research new features, but have to handle their families. They have lives, you know.
Big game companies delay features because they’re stingy, while indie companies simply don’t have the capacity to. Jundroo falls in the second category, not the first.
@Sm10684 yes, maybe the User Voice here feels neglected, but so is Juno’s. You can look at their roadmap and see that 90% of the suggestions there are labelled as “shelved”. Even the Juno users complain about this exact thing.
My point? Delays aren’t exclusive to SimplePlanes. Game dev is not easy and from my experience with creating, both here and outside SimplePlanes, there are always some annoying things that prevent what you want from being completed, because real life is immensely complicated. At least appreciate what the SP devs have managed to will into existence; it definitely wasn’t a smooth road. I addressed this before, and I’ll do it again.
@Sm10684 you constantly say that the SP devs have abandoned the game.
So what? Does it hinder your ability to play the game in any way? Does it prevent you from creating masterpieces? If it were just about SP being neglected, you wouldn’t complain so much.
You want the devs to pay more attention to SP. What happens when they do that? A new update.
Hence, isn’t this your ultimate goal? Besides, you yourself have just admitted that you like the idea of a new update.
“we don’t have anything to share at the moment” = we’re not currently working on it.
Go read my original comment that explains why this is not the case.
Also, like Strucker said, even if there was a new update, would it make you want to play it more? I doubt so. Just give yourself a few months after the next update, and you’ll be whining for the next one.
And before you complain about what you don’t have, be grateful for what you do. Just 2 years ago, there was no glass fuselages, fuselage cutting, joysticks, seats, realistic cockpit windows, gauges, levers, switches and text labels. Heck, 2 updates before that, there weren’t even helicopter rotors, and Overload was still a mod! All this features, that you get to enjoy now, are what users of the past lacked, so be grateful for what you have.
And this brings me to my last point: you have forgotten what SimplePlanes really is: a building game. True builders do not play SimplePlanes to get hyped up on new features every year, but because they enjoy building! Look, remember how I mentioned all those parts not existing just a couple of years ago? How, then, have so many users managed to keep on building all these years, without quitting? It is because they enjoy building. Only those who really enjoy building will be able to put in their maximum effort into making their creations, despite all the challenges that surround them. Even now, this spirit of overcoming SimplePlanes’s constraints lives on. Just look at the hundreds, even thousands, of vanilla tank tracks that have been made. All the while, people complain on every single one of Andrew’s posts for Jundroo to add tank tracks into the base game. You can see the obvious difference between the two parties: the ones who complain endlessly, and the ones who actually do something, because they play SimplePlanes to build!
So, I don’t know why you should get all whiny about Jundroo not posting updates. It may not be the point of this forum post, but I can see from your narcissistic comments saying “oh, the devs have abandoned us”, “oh, SimplePlanes is dead”, that the party that you’re on is obvious; the one who complains without doing anything. Remember all those people who waited 4 whole years for fuselage cutting, yet continued to produce masterpieces nevertheless.
No, rest assured that development is not dead. I know we've been quiet on SP for a while, but we just don't have anything to share at the moment. Game dev is a slow process with many dead ends.
If that doesn’t mean “we’re working on it”, I don’t know what does.
@Pan everyone eventually hits the bottom of the curve
“trust me guys, it’s an electric plane”
@Boeing727200F you can find them here
@Pilotgoose I think he’s trolling you
@Rey10 did you increase the length and width of the label using the sliders?
If you find that the text image colours are faded, do this to make the colours accurate.
(@11qazxc pls pin this thanks!)
@Zerotech use this, and do this to get accurate colours.
What witchcraft is this
@WaterFlavouredSpitfires VR runs on computers.

@TheCaper you know that no amount of willpower can force the devs to magically summon an update right?
@Pilothasya137 don't use the mirror tool, it gets really messy if you use it
As they all say, 'tis a good day when Annedzsrue posts.
Also I use the font in the thumbnail all the time lol
@Pilothasya137 set the x-coordinate of the fuselage block to 3 or 4, then click “Mirror Part”
Very relatable.

@MadeUpHimself it ain’t dead if people keep on playing
mb
You know that getting around a ban with an alt account will get you banned longer right?
@Cloog186436 this was an entry, not a challenge lol.
Also I made this before I knew how to build helicopters in SP; that’s why it looks so weird
Also can we appreciate how there are only 13 less upvotes than there are comments (235 comments, 222 upvotes)
@MobileBuilder21 and outer-space internet would be very restrictive, since you need satellites to transmit the information
@V oh wow
And I’ve heard that in JNO, to make fuselages you either have to do panelling, or use the default parts
@winterro I was talking about phones like the iPhone 6, which I’ve seen some users here owning
@spefyjerbf I mean, 80% of people here don’t even speak English as their first language…

@TinyMaus being in contact with the late DeezDucks, I have gathered some information about the new game. The name of the new Jundroo game is-
@Skyler101 ah yes
@V I don’t think it has

Oh yeah, I think my classmate’s grandfather oversaw the development of this

We already have hyper realistic planes here, despite the game being marketed as “simple” lol
T
@Sm10684 he has done it
I KNEW ITTTTTTTTTTT
Next up: nights over Maywar
An analogy: Making a replica is like building a Lego set using the instructions, while making a fictional plane is like starting from scratch with a pile of spare bricks and your imagination.
Reload the tab?
If it still doesn’t work it’s probably your wonky internet again
@AlivePan bruhhhhhhhh
But it is your streaming year so
@Sm10684 aight.
Also I don’t see anywhere in the rules that says you can’t tag devs. In fact, there have been some posts that have gotten official responses from devs.
@Sm10684 alright, I don’t have the capacity to argue anymore, and I’m starting to see insight in your point.

@Pilothasya137 thanks lol
