Challenge Sudden Death

Hi guys!

It is with great regret that I announce the extension of the Birthday Cake Challenge submission date. Due to an unforeseen lack of participation, I have decided to grant an additional two days to all aspiring cake makers out there!

I had hoped for a bustling turnout of creative and innovative cake designs in celebration of my birthday and, most importantly, this beloved SimplePlanes community. However, the response has been unexpectedly low, and understand that life can sometimes get in the way of artistic endeavors.

The new and final submission deadline is now July 27, 2 days after my birthday. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to those who had diligently prepared their cake decorations for the original deadline.

Let's make this Cake Decoration Challenge one to remember! I will look forward to seeing the wonderful creations that will be unveiled in the coming days.

See you there!

@RepublicOfCursedPlanes I didn't add a rule that people shouldn't change the placeholder cake I made, it's just a sample that people should make changes or it can be built from ground up.

Also, the reason why it's so successful because it's from the algorithm, not always the effort.

@Pilotgoose a good thumbnail, combined with a good challenge idea, will attract many participants.
When I had the same amount of points as you did, I posted my Never Built Challenge and it got overwhelming support, despite being my first one.
The trick for making challenges is: Letting people have freedom in building. When making a challenge, try making it as broad as possible, so that people have more choices in building. And the challenge should preferably have options to build either military or civilian planes, although military challenges usually get more attention.
Additionally, a mistake you made is making people build it for your company. Don’t do that; people want to build planes for themselves, so they don’t want to feel like they’re obligated to you.

Look, I have been there before, you host a challenge and barley anyone works in it, but you probably got the people to work for the challenge because you are a YouTuber

Word of advice: next time, just post a cockpit block. Doing so forces participants to actually be creative and not copy off your original cake.
Also, I won’t be able to join the challenge, due to a lack of time and motivation; hope you’ll understand.
