@INeedANewName if I asked you to build an airliner with full functionality, VR cockpit and interior, instead of cars which are what you like, for 1 year straight, would you want to? No, right? Same philosophy applies here.
Devs are humans too. You can’t be passionate about a single thing forever. Eventually, your interest will shift to something else. If they want to stop working on SP and instead make something that they have much more passion in, so be it! You don’t need to tell them what they want to do!
@MobileBuilder21 Flyout won’t kill SP.
This game thrives on its simplicity, while Flyout is more equivalent to Blender: more features, but harder to learn.
Also, SimplePlanes has a style and a community that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. WNP78 mentioned it himself.
And that’s assuming Flyout even gets published (it’s been 2 years now).
I can't explain this properly, but rest assured, this community will not die.
Most of the SP community is still made up of passionate builders. They play SP not to wait for new features, but because they're here to build whatever they want. Not having any more updates does not at all hinder your ability to enjoy the game, because ultimately you're here to play the game, not sulk about not having features.
And many people still join the community, because like what I said earlier, they are here to play the game.
The player base may level off, it may even dip a bit, but let me assure you that a lack of updates isn't stopping us from enjoying the game.
@INeedANewName you can call J:NO the sequel to SimplePlanes. It does have quite a number of aircraft-related parts such as custom airfoils and prop engines (but it doesn’t have fuselage slicing and weapons yet).
SimplePlanes is, as its name suggests, simple, in that a builder with absolutely zero experience can follow the 5-minute tutorial and make planes out of blocks. The game will stay this way; simple, and easy to understand.
J:NO is for experienced builders who want to make advanced crafts, which is why you see more features, but a steeper learning curve.
@PriusCat all good things come to an end.
Halting updates usually signifies 2 things:
1. the game is mature enough, most of the intended features have already been implemented and there aren’t many more bugs, so there isn’t a need for updates
2. The limits of the old codebase have been reached, so major new features aren’t possible
3. we’ve reached a point where spending time working on more updates is no longer profitable for the devs; look at how we’re getting all these updates free, while the devs aren’t making any money from these updates.
@StockPlanesRemastered wow, corruption at the highest levels.
We should be thankful realSavageMan (the current highest)’s a pretty nice guy who doesn’t judge builds lol.
The rules state: No sympathy posts or memorial posts. Move those discussions to the forums.
The mods probably saw the post about your brother crashing his car in SP and interpreted it as a memorial post, so it got removed
This is easily one of the best, if not the best, AI block ever made in human history. The immaculate curves; the unmatched thrust-to-weight ratio; a part efficiency unheard of. My favourite part was when it said “it’s AI blockin’ time” and AI blocked all over the place.
@WaltySimplePlanes69 go to the activation groups panel and click “Air-To-Air” or “Air-To-Ground”. If there’s a selected target the advanced targeting should appear.
Note that this is already a feature so you don’t need to download anything
@RepublicaOfTurboAirliner I’ll have to politely decline, since I don’t have much time to play SP nowadays, and I don’t want to have other players’ companies in my lore
Here after 5 years lol.
I’d say that no one’s actually called me out for liking planes. Since my school is a (kinda) elite one, everyone is pretty understanding of each other and we just engage in our own hobbies without bothering others. In my class, some play sports, some draw, and some play Genshin/Honkai, but no one judges anyone for these. Probably because we all instead focus on one thing: academics.
It’s sad to see that in many places, this kind of discrimination still exists. No one should get to define what is “normal” and what isn’t.
@Majakalona when showing something to other people, presentation is everything.
People have a limited amount of time to look at builds, so they tend to click the most eye-catching ones. Hence builds with good thumbnails are often the most popular.
This applies to not just SimplePlanes, but to real life. You’d obviously buy something from a company that has the best ads.

@VueloAirlines I apologise

@HuskyDynamics01 they just want attention so that their feature requests will be seen
@Superliner350 I mean, you’re not wrong, but this just doesn’t seem like the right place to start SP drama…
+1bri'ish
+3@Pan, what do you have against the case of @Graingy? (see below)
Go ahead, we’re listening…
@RYAviation 9 years is pretty long in game terms
+1@GUEVANAERONAUTICS read the top of the post…
@Pan yeah I told him about it
“in life there is roblox”
@TheFlightGuySP I mean, large airliners would probably phase into the walls because there wouldn’t be enough space
@L3FT2R1GHT means that you get to try the prototype update out before the devs actually release the update
@MADDOGLUCAS you can get an Android version of Maywar here.

@Walvis my bad
Everyone be bussin when new SP update comes out
+3@ToeTips or the price might just increase
Anyone else still following this post?
+2@Transair56 if they didn’t use props they wouldn’t be able to make realistic engines
+1@Pan …his mom?
@CSI9921 for your information, stating your age in your bio will get you banned, because those under 13 aren’t allowed on the site
People know this as a bomber, but forget that it was the first airliner ever built
+1@JJsimple they call me the Republic of Cursed Planes for a reason
T
@StockPlanesRemastered same (I joined the Airliner Authority of SimplePlanes [AAS] so I’ve talked to him a little)
@StockPlanesRemastered wow, corruption at the highest levels.
+2We should be thankful realSavageMan (the current highest)’s a pretty nice guy who doesn’t judge builds lol.
@Graingy correction: the highest
+2Kid: Mom I want J-20
Mom: We have J20 at home
J20 at home:
Ordered this, and there was a tiny scratch on the fuselage.
+20/10 biggest scam ever 😡😡😡
@Ooflauncher1 it’s not allowed to fly…
@Talon7192 discord thing (we don’t talk about it)

@realSavageMan it’s ze yeeter.
My profile picture is a Swiss Ju-52 if you wanna confirm
@realSavageMan would it be alright if I joined? It’s not easy finding airliner builders to talk to…
(my Discord ID is zeyeeter)
