@EternalDarkness I have come up with a slightly different throttle design that uses prop pitch to imitate a fuel mix changer for limited speed control, this combined with the blip switch is quite good.
Yes I have been looking for a way to improve it for the plane I'm currently working on, I will experiment with a few different methods. There was also the fuel mix switch that could change throttle slightly and various other ways to control speed. Blip switches (commonly on the control column) were used with a mix of other inputs, and were only used for taxi and landing as too much blipping set the engine on fire. @EternalDarkness
Lol you don't know how good you got it! 2 years ago when I was No 2 of the leaderboard, When I uploaded something there were about 6 copies uploaded within 2 hrs lol, the most copies ive ever had on a plane was 12. It seems to have died down
About 8 hours of fiddling around with dead weight to get it flying perfect. It flew really well with no decoration and deadweight but I upset the balance when doing the registration numbers on the wings, so it took a while to make it fly nice again. Part of it I think is because I made the wing shape and fuselage shape almost exactly how it is IRL, it gets the Tip stall characteristic from the wing shape and as the pilot told me, it is very hard to land with all three points.
I made it fly as close as possible to the original too, so it has a very long range a close to original top speed and a similar climb rate to the original, I believe the original design could be as aerobatic but lacks the structural strength.
so, make sure wheels are just in front of the COM make sure the plane isn't nose heavy and is relatively straight-flying you don't need big elevators. I believe if the elevator is very far from the COM and the plane is perfectly balanced pitch should be better with a small elevator.
Also a sneaky thing I do sometimes is download a hypnotoad plane and check its COM COL and COT he usually has it spot on. @KerlonceauxIndustries
My bloody grass aerodrome in the bowl!!!!!! been asking for 2 years now lol!
I agree, the AI usually manages to crash my racers [that I can manually fly very well] before the first checkpoint.
I don't think we need better painting tools as a good way to tell if someone is a skilled builder is to see what their paint schemes are, But what we do need is an infinite number of custom paints as it gets quite annoying when you run out of paints and have to paint things the same colour.
You can edit guns in overload but it would be LOVELY to edit them without mods. As for bombs hell yeah, and there needs to be a red button that turns them into nukes hehe.
Yes if you got engine damaged coolant could spray out and the engine would overheat and catch fire, also the crash mechanics should not chain explode your plane, just splat it onto the ground in a big mess and set a few things on fire.
would be very helpful!
My additions.

Huh, History should not be edited, you need to leave the gory and disgusting bits in otherwise it will happen again. For example the Islamic conquest of the Christian world in the early middle ages that triggered the crusades, a brave attempt to liberate the occupied land, this is edited out of European history because of political correctness, probably because the so called "Islamic R*pe of Europe" is too shocking... @ThePrototype
I do not believe that would have happened. Nor do I take responsibility for the actions of people hundreds of years ago like many modern day Liberals would want. @ThePrototype
For my most recent build (the one I'm working on rn) I have one set of blueprints, I normally build mostly by eye, never use a ruler, use lots of photographs and if possible go and study a real example of what I'm attempting to build, for my current project I have been lucky that the shuttleworth collection (that I live 40 mins away from) is in possession of an original, and ive been able to see it fly numerous times and I've been able to get very close indeed to the plane and listened to the pilot talk on it, I did the exact same thing with GROSVENOR HOUSE. I have a few hundred photos on my camera of the aircraft in extreme detail, I try to implement these details into my builds.
@KerlonceauxIndustries Haha im downloading holdfast my internet is so slow sometimes that it says it will take over 100 years to download... TalkTalk will be geting a VERY strongly worded letter! Well at least I have internet i suppose!
@KerlonceauxIndustries Somehow I dont think that would go with the full interior tank I want to make... I was thinking about a MK I or MK IV a few months ago but thought it would be a bit too annoying, I might do a few track experiments over the weekend.
@KerlonceauxIndustries Try making a fictional decaplane (or any multiplane) in a WWI or 1912/13 style using my engine ;) Remember to set throttle to LandingGear so you can get the full rotary blip throttle experience! It will probably be hard but probably worth it!

because, I tried. and it was infuriating due to the throttle controls being landing gear. its a lot harder than pc. @KerlonceauxIndustries
Thanks, Its the standard RFC scheme for mid-late 1914 @Ghavin2000
Added to my list. @EternalDarkness
I will experiment tomorrow with the system you suggested with the complete AVRO 504. If it works well I shall let you know!@EternalDarkness
That was my intention, hopefully many more to come! @PlanesAndThings2

Many thanks :) enjoy flying it! @Mostly
I'm pretty sure it went from 100% to either idle or 0% but this is as close as I can get. @RailfanEthan
Heres a good video showing a sopwith camel pilot using the blip switch a lot and the Wikipedia page has some good info on rotary engines in general.
@EternalDarkness What can I say, doped canvas is tougher than it looks.
Thanks man! @PlanesAndThings2
YAY 50 UPVOTES GUYS!!!!!!!
I made a very big plane AGES ago. Called the XVI Hellbringer

I have a Balalaika. Made in Stalingrad in the early 70's

Good Evening. I hear you are the creator of the custom screenshot mod, Would it be possible for me to use it for my upcoming series of WWI Areoplanes?

you could plaster it in them and I wouldn't care.
I love the Germans. A friendly salute to you from England my fine sir!
Ah, @RailfanEthan
lol
THIS IS A MEGAFON IT FONS MEGA!
There's an abandoned mineral railway in my dad's back garden about 1000ft from the house. Does that count lol?
As a Briton can one of you chaps over the pond explain what the hell thanksgiving is?

I was not aware when I made the comment below, It is my wish to be invited, but I am aware it isn't my choice. @Tully2001
I can be rather patient. @EternalDarkness
Hey @EternalDarkness Could one like me join the chat?
no problem m8! @Gemista
@marcox43 I have a wing loading of 3Ibs per square ft
That was basically what I was thinking when I said add it to the game, I'm sure they could figure out how to add it in or make a DLC, @Awsomur
It likes to pitch into the ground or roll into a pylon for me, any tips for dealing with AI? @marcox43
God this is annoying, the AI literally seems to be controlled by a sentient potato.
The cockpit reminds me of the coal hole in the Sea Vixen
@SpiritusRaptor Thanks m8!
How about a more official and refined mod, (a DLC) @Awsomur
Thanks @RailfanEthan
@KerlonceauxIndustries Gratz!
@KerlonceauxIndustries press F to pay respects F

Looks abit like a short stirling.
@KerlonceauxIndustries Sounds like a cool plan!
