I usually use two engine
One engine connected to a pair of wheel to move forward and backward using pitch control
One engine connected to another pair of wheel to turn left and right using roll or yaw, make sure both wheel moving in different direction
This is the simplest and closest one to actual tank control without making the wheel turning
Or if you're crazy enough, you can make tracks using rotators...which i don't know how
