I decided to keep the fire rate realistic and instead use the canon with explosive rounds (real F-35 sometimes uses explosive rounds). This way you can have high fire rate and see the impact, not so much the bullet travel, unfortunately. Also it stinks u can't canon with the "gun" button.

GuyFolk pointed me to this plane which has a neat method. link. You change the fuselage to a glass part, make it's transparency level so you can't see thru it, and apply 1 sided transparency. All this is done via the overload tool. This is as close of a solution i'm aware of currently. I didn't like the "mesh the fuselage side panels into the camera" method since it hinders how you build
Now I can download better graphics for free!

@Kevito212 In response to your question about the picture, I actually really like the little flag in the corner. The planes name is already viewable since it’s the title, so no need to include. This way you can keep the airplane large and in focus without much clutter

Easy fix: Have piston move camera up outside the plane when you look more than 75ish deg down and 90 deg left or right. Then have rotators spin the rig to the left, right, or below the plane when you are looking in those directions. Want 2 test this later. Still can't see thru the wings and body tho
@TomatoIsAFruit Was trying to push for silver. Now I can use the “update xml” feature! It will be so useful on this plane because I modify the funky trees code real often.

Congrats and thanks for sparking tons of creativity! Every 1 or 2 years I come back to this game with an ambitious idea and determination. Since the funky trees update, so much creative potential has been unlocked! It’s gotten to the point where everyone can modify SP itself, making the bleeding edge of what’s possible in this physics sim the norm. Will development now stagnate?

If so, consider expanding the scope to include more objective based building. For example races, combat and challenges performed with others in an interactive online multiplayer setting. This would provide an UNLIMITED amount of build and gameplay objectives because player on player interactions are never the same. Robocraft is a game that exploited that to their advantage. It turned gamers into, building strategists. “Build contests take care of that” you say. I say, you left gamers out of the equation, just made builders better builders. When gamers have no reason to fly, SP will die and the build community will slowly fade.

Most of what I gather is from videos of it flying, online posts, etc. Still have a lot of programming hurdles to jump before this is really good. I actually sometimes refer to the microsoft flight sim manual for this plane lol. There's a section at the bottom about how it's configured in that sim

This is the kind of creativity I miss in simple planes. All of todays planes are replicas and feel super unsatisfying to fly. This is what what simple planes felt like in the early days. Functional planes with definitively unique flight characteristics. It’s a physics sim at heart. Gave me a hearty laugh when I saw the lift system. Creative and functional. Hard to find these gems.
