Changing the part type doesn't seem to work properly and makes the part disappear entirely. The part is returned once you undo but it's quite annoying to deal with

As far as I know, the view perspective location is based on where the CoM is placed, usually I'd just place the cockpit on a detacher, this makes it so that the placement is where the cockpit is
