Try uninstalling SP and reinstall it. Be sure to move the plane files to another folder. Once reinstalled, it should work. Drop the plane files back in, and the issue should be gone. I had to do this on my Kindle hd 10 7th gen, and it worked.
@BlueCitrus in 1.7 my Kindle would get major shadow glitches... Then 1.8 fixed it. I believe it was because the graphics didnt really support my gpu.... The same might be for you only wjth 1.8.
