@Weaverfish Thanks! I love your replicas for the dedication you put in making them close in scale and flight characteristics to the real thing! Glad you like my little modification, you can probably tell I nicked the engines from your 262 and stuck them on the messer. I tried not to do a lazy job though, making other modifications here and there. ^^
I love the way the cockpit camera Bobs in maneuvers, a simple thing that gives a nice feeling of g-forces in maneuvers.(for lack of a better description) Can't wait to see what you make next, these planes are great!
Low part count, high destructive potential. Obliterated all but a single truck in a convoy with a single shot, taking out the last one with that minugun. I like how you used XML modded wheels to simulate tracks!
@app2099 Good thing to consider making! Took a quick look and didn't see any replicas of that that were too good. Though I am thinking I might make the UI-4054 Aurora from Ace Combat 3 next. Thinking I might also make the ww2 plane from JC3 at some point as well.
@Minecraftpoweer Perhaps, though funny enough it worked just fine on the Jet bomber, hence making short work of a Mig 17. I might try that though, it could help improve accuracy.
Having tested this thing both atop a Horton 10 bomber and a ww1 plane I can say that this thing does mostly work. It sometimes seems to inexplicably aim opposite of where the opponent is. But when it gets on target it can be surprisingly effective.
It was quite fun evading a Fokker while trying to help maneuver the plane to where the turret could get a good shot. Despite taking hits to the wings I ended up winning that fight.
Atop a Horton 18 jet bomber it made very short work of an incoming hostile Mig 17.
Overall it has worked quite nicely with the occasional issue. With improvements this could make for quite the deadly weapon! That gun may look like it shoots confetti but it does the job.
@RamboJutter Follow https://dieselpunkmachine.deviantart.com/ on Deviantart if you haven't already, they tend to attract some makers of really good aircraft! Also, if you would like to check it out I have a DA myself where I have posted a number of aircraft designs. Nowhere near the masterpieces of people like Jim or Cutagnus, but I can link that too if you'd like. ^^
I love this! I love Cuntageous' artwork and can't believe someone is bringing it to SP! Between this and all the other great thing you make I am definitely following!
To put it short the Combat AI seems to be a flying aimbot, from what I have seen (at least mainly in guns only type fights) its sole programming centers around aiming at the player and shooting. I say aimbot because the AI can be surprisingly good at leading its shots.
I think that at minimum adding some simple evasive programming would remedy the glaring issues. Mainly an avoidance of low altitude when possible and a program to evade the player's aim, discouraging it from head on passes.
If it can read the deflection of its own guns then perhaps a similar system could be used allowing it to detect player aim and turn away. I'm no programmer of course, but it seems like a simple fix that could help make the AI more fun to fight.
I think that a similar kind of defensive programming is used for normal AI, as they do seem to turn away from you when you fire on them. Generally an ability to switch between an Offensive/Defensive mode like what OtterOfToast mentioned could be a more simple solution, only with reuse of existing code for the normal AI repurposed as a 'defensive mode'.
These are just some suggestions I thought I'd pitch for this old topic, given it and the comments below relate very well to my own experiences with the AI.
This plane when it flies comes off as being rather slow jet with decent turning at first, but then I discovered the crazy climb rate this thing has. I can nose up to around 90 degrees and it'll keep gaining speed. Once at high altitudes its speed REALLY picks up, I've gotten it past 600 Mph! Has smooth if slightly unstable flying with pretty good speed retention, overall a plane I enjoy flying and even fighting in! Great job!
Holy crap is this thing is big, yet it flies quite well and is very stable yet responsive in flight. Good job! Glad To have been able to find such a well built one of these so quickly!
In my experience testing things by making a single fuselage piece and setting the health points as high as possible that piece seems to get destroyed by a single missile hit regardless. I've been using the Ice base SAMs for testing.
@junglekiIIer Well cool! I'll probably check it out when it's uploaded.

+1@EliteArsenals24 Oh, I see what you mean
What kind of sorcery are you doing to make these things '1 Part'????
@Chancey21 Oooooh I like some of those tails.
@CCCP Thanks!

Trump getting lifted by a Russian chopper? RUSSIAN COLLUSION!!!
+1Looks like a Ta-152 after a tug of war between Me-262's.

+2@Bife Thank you!
+1There is literally nothing that the SP community can't make.
+4@redbear89 Glad you like it.
@OmegAa63 Thanks, I love the style of Ace Combat 3 planes as well.

FINALLY SOMEONE MADE THIS!
+1@jason2312 Thank you.
@Minecraftpoweer Upvotes and Downloads being well deserved. ^^

A genius creation for sure! Glad I found this!
Close the door, put out the light.
No they won't be home tonight.
The snow falls hard and don't you know
The winds of thor are blowing cold.
I love how you forgot the name yet made the thing so well.
Totally dare you to make Jimbowyrick's 'Stagger Jaeger'.
@SlyFox Seems to be devoid of vertical stabilization, straight up flat spins in the air.
@Dynimerous Thanks!
Is that bomb targeting I see on the last image?
@RamboJutter Thanks!
@RamboJutter I have! His stuff is great too!
"....He took the red one..."

Jimbowyrick too??? Sweet!
@RamboJutter Well don't go without taking breaks to fly your creations! Heaven knows you deserve them now and again!
I love this! I love Cuntageous' artwork and can't believe someone is bringing it to SP! Between this and all the other great thing you make I am definitely following!
@Mattangi It does actually, and thank you!
This is how you know that there is NOTHING people can't or won't make on Simple Planes.
@BLAKJAK Thanks for the advice! I'll do that next time.
Well that was quick!
@RocCrafter101 Sweet
Destroyer next perhaps? 030

This thing flies SO smoothly! It's a joy to fly, and a beautiful recreation of one one of Blohm and Voss' more unusual yet elegant designs!
@Kimcotupan15 The fact that you make these on mobile is astonishing, I'll be surprised if you don't at least use a stylus!
Definitely following you, you've got some great yet computer friendly designs!

I love the bullet ejection effect! And an overall nicely built plane!
This thing is insane, activate AG4 and it's an oversized speed boat. Awesome ship overall!
This thing is awesome, beautiful in looks, beautiful in performance, and beautifully makes a mess out of the uss Beast and its destroyers.
@randomusername That makes sense! Thank you for replying!
