a gyroscope wouldnt help, turning would be much more difficult, but if you look closer he fell because the road suddenly changed and the driver couldnt react fast enough to right himself, motorycles can be safe if the driver knows what they are doing, thats why (at least in the US) motorcycles are considered a different class of vehicle, which is why you need a special license for legally riding
