One way that I have used in the past to find out how things work in the game is to search the forum to see what other questions have been asked about a certain topic.
Also, download someone's build and see how they have it set. Sometimes they have extra code that you didn't know about. you can copy the code from their part, load yours and then paste it into your part using OL.
or you can search parts tags, (more tedious) for the parts you want. ex. https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/2nxAV4/Shock-sub-assembly-units
