The Tidal-class was a series of hastily constructed bombardment cruisers built by Graingy at the beginning of WWII to bolster the Royal Canadian Navy.
Work began as soon as Canada, then Graingy's home country, entered the war in late 1939.
The cruisers were crude 2000 tonne ships with too-heavy guns for their size and a complete lack of armour. Speed was nothing to write home about either. Despite these flaws, the ships represented some of the greatest naval power the Great White North could muster after their delivery - a gift from the company to fight fascism.
Their twelve 25cm guns, while slow firing and short-ranged, are incredibly effective when they do hit.
For shooting over coastal walls a 25cm mortar is equipped, preventing targets from hiding behind hills and other heavily reinforced structures.
As an emergency armament, six small torpedoes are carried from simple sling racks in case an enemy vessel tried to rush the ship during the lengthy reloading process.
Overall, while crude, the Tidals gained a small but well-earned place in the history books.
It is because of this that Graingy now wants nothing to do with the surviving hull.
Where on Earth are we going to put this thing?

Yes, the hull is not original.
It was increased in scale to 2x at the time, and fitted with engines, but the core design of the hull is not original.
OH!
As I was the account manager when the original was posted, it needs to be pointed out that the hull was a pre-built one!
Some challenge or what have you. It's been a long time.
